Hey!
I have an assignment due at uni, and i have chosen to do it on how the V8 Supercars are kept competitively in balance. I have already discussed the mechanical and technological strategies and but i cant find much info on how gate revenue is shared or how teams earn money, and if its regulated. Thanks, any info would be appreciated!

I do not know about the gate takings, as this would most likely only cover the event hire, staffing and insurances. All the big money is in the TV broadcast rights. The teams also make money with merchandising and sponsorship.
I am sure if you do some Googling, you can find out more, or email v8 supercars Oz.

Actually until the deal recently the teams owned most of V8SC's. So things like going to the middle east was quite profitable for the teams. But not sure how it all goes now with the new deal as the teams pretty much sold their share.

Profits are distributed evenly to each REC holder, probably all changed now but before TEGA (the teams) owned 75% of V8 Supercars while IMG/SEL (Cochrane) owned 25%

Do a search on Archer capital finance. They are an Aussie mob who bought the controlling stake in V8Supercars.
Effectively teams previously had 75% stake and SEL a 25% stake. It is now approx 40% for the teams and 60% for Archer. Cochrane retained 1-5% for himself apparently. http://www.foxsports.com.au/motor-sp...-1226057416331 http://www.theroar.com.au/2011/05/18...ional-thunder/

Each REC gets a guaranteed dividend every year, level 1 RECs get more than level 2.
