just looking at the car sale section and saw the au ute was up for grabs(wish i`d seen it sooner), just wondering what would have be entailed in doing the motor /auto swap to my vct xr6, it`s out of an au so it should be bolt in for most stuff , but i`m thinking the fuel pump , engine wiring, the smart shield,ecu ,etc, any thoughts are welcome.

ecu would need to be a S2 or S3 one , I think some sensors are different too they are on the I6 and if they are the engine harness will be different too

i just spoke to my younger(wiser) brother, and he pointed out that putting an engine in mine from an earlier Au model is a no no, after thinking about it he`s probably right, even the the gas exemption thing would`nt work after 89 if i was to go that that way, ah well it was just a thought, thanks anyway Au3xr6.
