Default Fairlane Door Mirrors

Can anyone tell me if AU Falcon door mirrors will fit onto an AU/NU Fairlane?

The mirrors on my Fairlane are fine however I'm after chrome covers like the BA LTD's have.

Ford have quoted me $ 150-$200 supply only chrome mirror scalps.
Way over the top!! can't justify that sort of money on two pieces of chromed plastic.
The dealer said "we don't keep them in stock as they're poor quality"

I've seen after market mirror replacements on ebay but they say they won't fit fairmont's or fairlanes

Any idea's??

Correct.

But a link to the ebay page to double check wouldn't hurt

EDIT: I found the ebay ad, they will fit, but you won't need to replace the entire mirror, just the mirror scalp, if you buy them.

Yep i bought mine off ebay for $110 about 3 years ago and still looking awesome. You just need to be careful removing the old covers. I used a long flat blade screw driver and a pair of long nose pliers. I just looked at my old green ones and there are 3 points where they are joined. I hope that helps.

I put the chrome B series LTD covers on my AU2 Fairlane years ago and it was an easy swap. Just turn the mirrors all the way to access the clips inside with the screwdriver and they come off, then the new ones pop on. About $110 from a Ford dealer though eBay. No problems with the chrome so far.
