Default 250 and T5 into 4 cylinder TE body

hey,
can anybody tell me how hard it is to fit a 250 crossflow and T5 gearbox into a TE cortina? Do you need to modify the firewall or anything? originally the car was a 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual... Just wondering what parts ill need?

im assuming its legal to do, and you dont need an engineers certificate?

thanks
tom

no firewall mods..
u just need to cut a new shifter hole which sits roughly 100mm further back.

as for legalities i dunno.. i never got pulled over and checked.

you'll need a set of 6cyl cortina mounts.. both the engine mounts and the mounts that mount to the chassis.

auto tailshaft will fit with no drama's.

if your putting a XF Falcon 250Xflow in ... you'll need a Cortina Pickup/Sump and the 2 Main Bolts the Pickup bolts to..

but if its a Cortina 250Xflow motor.. the sump will be correct.
due to the Bowl been @ front on Falcon.. and Rear on Cortina

u can use the original crossmember and redrill it to suit the t5 rear mount. u'll need to unstitch the crossmember mounts from the floorpan, bolt everything up and reweld them. cortina tailshaft and speedo cable will plug into the back end of a t5.
