Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone is able to shed some light on this one for me. I have just picked up a new project to tinker on. It's a 1992 black EB Fairmont Ghia, 5.0 V8 with about every conceivable option available at the time added to it- sunroof, leather seats, full body kit etc. In the owners book stashed in the glovebox it lists the original owner as "Ford Motor Company of Australia". Was this the owner they used for all company cars driven around by Ford execs' & reps or is it something more special? Cheers Stu |

Probably an exec's car or one of the head office pool cars. Most likely the former, they still do it today.

Yeah mine is as well, was owned by Ford in Geelong in 97/98.
Then it went all the way to someone on the sunny coast in 98/99, then me.

Sometimes pending how high up the previous "Ford Australia" owner was, you can get options not available on that model.

All of those options were available as 'Tickford' options at the time, and were available to execs as well as on dealer sold vehicles. |

Cool. Thanks guys.
It has a Tickford sticker attached to the underside of the rear parcel shelf. A mate who used to work at Tickford said they most likely installed the sunroof or did the bodykit...or both. Not sure if the SIDO is 3999, Mick. I'll have a looky. Does that mean anything? Stu |

Lease cars are usually loaded with every option you can possibly jam in them.

I had an EL Fairmont Ghia , 3999 sido number , it must have been one of the first down the line as its build date was so close EF II .It had the Mocca trim but different door insets and the seats had a clothe insert in them as well. I seem to remmeber the name of this trim package as "Continental " perhaps.Other than the trim it had no other extras. Was a really nice car , always liked the EL Ghia look and with the V8 it was a great cruising car.
