Today i spent a few hours at a exhaust place. Helping them make up a new intake for my car.
The filter is a K&N Apollo. Sorry about the image quality on the engine bay pic. I got given a couple of cameras and i was screwing with the editing software and yeah, i had a bit of fun and couldnt get it back to the original quality. but yeah, you get the idea. The intake pipe has a bung on it for the engine oil breather tube, so it hooks straight upto it. All in all im very happy with the results. I didnt want something pretty under the bonnet. :P just something that worked lol. but the filter looks pretty cool. .. and when i repaint the new pipe in a matt black colour it will look nicer (instead of the gloss black colour it is now, WITH FINGER AND HAND PRINTS ALL OVER IT!!!!!) Sounds much nicer than the airbox... and i found that low down in the rpm range it takes less right foot movement to get the car going, its touchier.

Most places sell the K&N filter for about 270. i managed to haggle to 210.
The custom pipe took a few hours to make and it was bloody frustrating for myself and the exhaust guy who i was helping out. that cost another 150. Mandrel bent so its all good Im loving it so far, the car is much more willing at low rpm through traffic in 3rd of fourth gear. Also sounds the bizz
