I saw this on another forum and it may have already been show here but for members that missed it like I did, this gives a great view and rundown of both these Yank cars.
I can't believe how wild the Mustang sounds when they put it on a track 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R vs 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 |

Always thought the camaros look futuristic, probably less so today. But definitely the Mustang. I'd say it's the car that turns my head like no other on the road today.

I would happily take either. But at a pinch id take the Camaro purely on looks

I would take the Mustang. I think there was a similar comparison done before by another site. The Camaro was slightly quicker but for me the Mustang looks better, sounds better and has the Voodoo engine. That's not to say I don't respect the Camaro, the latest gen are from all reports very capable steerers, putting the sport into Muscle Cars.

Mustang does a number on this Z/28, but to put it into perspective the Camaro in this comparison was last gen versus the new Mustang.
The new gen Camaro with Alpha platform has won a lot of admirers stateside, with every comparison against the current Mustang going the favour of the Camaro by a fair margin in every facet of performance. Last I heard, the upcoming Z/28 will be powered by an updated LS7. The LS7 is expected to get the LT1 treatment; VVT and Direct Injection which should see it comfortably make 540hp+ and a mountain of torque. As much as I love Mustangs, I think their reign at the pointy end of the Pony car segment will be short lived. Well, until the 750hp GT500 with a 5.0L Ecoboost hits the road, that is... |

Flat plane crank certainly adds massive character to any engine, even in line engines with flat or crossplane cranks sound orgasmic. Expensive to produce and heavy cranks but the charisma they bring are worth it.

Apart from the engines and looks of both cars, the size of the front tyres is what floors me! 305 for the Camaro, and 315 fronts for the stang!
Makes the performance cars here look very under-tyred!

The Camaro looks better at the front and the exhaust note is a lot nicer, but the Mustang takes the rest of the features, overall a hotter car and I will take a Mustang over a Camaro

If I was buying a new Camaro I definitely wouldn't be wasting my money on a 2016 model, I'd be waiting until 2017 before I outlaid any cash. All the GM gearheads know what's coming.

Surprising that, given just how good the new Camaro is. I think it's a great looker and from the reviews I've read it appears to be a fantastic car.
