just trying to confirm something for a friend who thinks they may get a speeding fine from a fixed camera in queensland (no not me!!) :
does queensland on the back of the fine allow you to nominate unknown driver and pay a hefty fine but not loose points or otherwise? |

As far as I know, there are no fixed speed camera's in QLD... Not sure about the second question, but I understand that they recently removed the ability to pay a bigger fine and not nominate a driver for a company-registered car...

so you could only nominate unknown driver for company cars as you say and they are now over that? : |

I think so, chief... Contest the ***** anyways - They often drop them as soon as you send the form in.

Interesting scenerio if they change the "no idea who was driving" rule. What do they do? Charge the director of the company that registers it? How about you nominate a person in NT or overseas? How about you tell them to get stuffed? It is not illegal for a car to speed as a car does not have a licence. Maybe de-register the car, ok, register it interstate. Ahhh the joys of "every K over is a dollar..... I mean killer" |

ill be a bit more transparent (again its not me thats been caught) :nutsycuck but this person thinks they will get a mobile camera fine at a time when they were on the border of a suspension. im not condoning such things of course i just pondered whether the 'unknown driver' rort would get them off. i could talk about the rorts i have used personally to beat fines another time :

Its illegal for the police to fine you from a fixed camera in queensland. If its a company car and the company doesnt nominate who was driving the car there are huge costs involved. A mobile speeding camera, must have a sign with can be read from both directions. If there is more then one car in the photo that you get booked in, just stick to your guns and say the other car was going faster then you, ask them to prove it was you. Mobile cameras are norm set higher then normal. I do know there is one along gympie road in brisbane that is set to 72km in a 60km zone.
