As some of you may know I've got an AU engine I'll be using the bottom end from. It's out the back at the moment being stripped down for a rebore.
Anyway, Dave (Thanatos) was over when I first got it and he noted the weird looking sump plug, didn't pay much attention at first, until the other day. Looking at it I see it's got Denso stamped on it, Denso being a Japanese auto part manufacturer for those who don't know. I'm wondering why the hell a Ford has a Denso sump plug. Then it hit me when I had a closer look.... I can't believe someone has done it, bush mechanic to the max. I'll let everyone guess what it is. Needless to say I'm going to be getting a genuine one! |

Ive come accross this at work before, it was on a fairlane taxi (AU) and he said it never leaks and thats why he had changed it! As the au's have the in-built rubber bit/o-ring, But he was stinge and couldnt just buy a new sump plug, but rather stuff the sump! :

Lucky you will only be using the bottom end! It would proberbly run rough otherwise, with the sump plug being used as a spark plug up top, it was bound to be missing on one cylinder.
