If i buy stuff in person I like one stop rc in rydalmere. Only issue is that its not a giant place so don't always have oddball parts. Online, hobbys direct is the go off their website. They stock heaps of stuff. If its not in stock, just email them politely and they will respond with an eta of when stuff will be re stocked. They mail it out same day if you order before 2pm and they always put a sticker in with your order... |

Also getting familiar with how to manually tune it. Looking at the default settings & most likely start there i suppose. Ordered a pair of jacks to suit batteries to charger, cause of course its different to the stuff provided! (: |

With the hobbywing esc's. Box of wizard is the go. Its super easy to change stuff on the go. As in change something and dont like it, change it again as the box says it all on the little screen. Beats the crap out of either carrying the book to work out the sequence of flashing lights or having to look through a pdf on your phone. Also the box of wizard is a balance checker for lipos up to 6s. |

Hey DJM! with your Mojave, have you played around with spring tension & camber??
I put some weight into mine to replicate having a battery onboard & have upped the rear spring tension.... felt way too soft & bottoming out very easily. Also appears to have too much neg camber on the rears. Will check droop next. |

Depending on how you use it, yeah spring rate and dampening is pretty simple to decide, but camber and toe is kind of difficult unless its a constant surface. Thats why that side of the off road stuff can be tricky. Loose dirt, hard packed, damp, dry, all that stuff. I reckon rip the thing through a few batteries first. Work out if you need to pre load spings and stuff. I have my sct reasonably well set up i think. That thing also has adjustable swaybars and that was a new experience to set up and make work good.

Not sure how true it is,but one popular RC guy was saying the grey wheels are a harder plastic.... for what its worth? I think the wheel nut coming off & hacking the wheel was more the early model .... they increased the wheel to hub thingy by 1mm in the later ones.... should still use a drop of Loctite blue apparently. |

Yep swaybars were a big deal in on road stuff... Mojave has them too. Should have all the bits in about a week. |

Ive had 0 issues with wheels coming loose. Taken mine off a few times and they've been super tight. Must have been an issue with the V1 6s i think. Also those inner fenders, if you find em let me know. I still might bit the bullet and get em. I understand they keep dirt from inside the chassis. But i reckon it'd cause a mess on the inner side of each wheel maybe.

No actual tyres.... i see lots of wheels with vent holes.
Been watching several vids recommending doing the tyres instead.... self cleaning, reduces ballooning, for better grip & balance. |

Rc related, on friday when i payed the wages to the mechanics.... anyhow i did notice a few things. Passing by later on after they closed the owner was ripping a rustler. So i pulled up and said i had one of those, told him what i did to mine and pointed out i noticed he had a couple repro bodies for frogs. Well, he has a couple repro frogs, and an original frog, also an original hornet. He is into the vintage rc stuff. He has, in his words '40 odd'. So, that to me means he is a good bloke. 40 means more then 40, 40 is just what he tells his mrs.
