I got a personal loan for mine (a couple of cars back though)
8k at 7.9% for 6 years, I dont even notice it gone so it dosent bother me...

A good reason for me is when you have commitment like loan repayment it makes less likely to blow money else where eg pub, fancy clothes buying shite you don't really need. But you gotta be sencible about it and don't bite off more than you can chew. I hate mortgages :
