I find it amussing that some people are very quick to bag and cast judgement on what could very well be a fine example, why ? just because it is a 4 Cylinder.
Technology has improved vastly somewhat and like I have mentioned before about a similar topic, I wait egerly for the release of the Eco Boost in the Falcon range, it has my attention.

You are 100% right about things moving on & a EB4 turbo is probably a better fit then a V8 Turbo in the current environment.. If FPV had have been around 10 years ago, I'm sure there would have been people laughing at a i6T in an FPV type of Falcon.. Who knows where we'll be in another 10 years??

I don't see a problem with having a "F4" falcon in the FPV range.
More variety, more sales, more work.

It is another vehicle in the line up another market for them to go for.
The customers of FPV have their mind set on a type of vehicle before they go into the showroom.

i just think even with a lighter engine, and a respectable power /torque level, the falcon is still a big heavy car, it just would`nt be really a sporty package (but i could be wrong), in a Focus or Fiesta it would be a testicle tearer, but i have images of G Pak torana, it would sort of be a very budget fpv but not really up to the performance standard, it would demean the fpv logo .......you know what i mean?

I know what you're saying, but the Falcon cannot be considered a sports car it is a family hack with a a lot of power. The I4T IMO would be probably a good entry level FPV, I don't see it being a bad thing. The problem is people here see 4 cylinder and instantly think weak. Introducing a FPV package for the I4T Falcon could change people's perception of the 4 cylinder from a performance point of view and be a good marketing tool too (if they do it properly).

I am not keen on FPV touching the Focus or Fiesta. There is nothing they could do that RS in Europe haven't already done or better.

Would it work in a Mondeo?? 240kw front wheel drive sedan....or will it end up like a TRD Aurion?? The Aurion was very expensive. ...FPV F4 Mondeo..

Don't need a turbo V8 just a Coyote V8.

HSV had their SC V6 against the V8, more economical and a nice drive but a sales failure.

Who would buy a FPV with 220KW when the base XT 6 cylinder Falcon will probably have around the same amount of power (given that the Holden premium 6 has 215 KW on 98 now) and more torque ?

Just can't see a market for it.

Will it hurt brand image? No

Imagine, if it did happen, and you could get the economy of a standard 6cly falcon, but with a good dose of power, 220-30kw?

An "economical" FPV hass the potential to attract customers and attention to the brand.

The only way an FPV F4 should ever exist is if it is a rebadged 2012 Focus RS..
