Who cares if it's only an astra
My car is only a falcon, and I only spend $12 a month going through a drive through car wash to keep my paint free of birdpoo and nicely swirled. |

so it seems you CAN polish a ****
i cannot understand someone who goes to that much effort. Keeping it clean? Sure. making statements like this: Quote:
Also why do all of this to something that's white (snore) and something that has an interference motor!

I remember Mark^^ posting this in the Territory section a year or 2 ago.
As Dave said ... this guy has a complex. And all the work on a white car ... that will barely show his time/efforts ... now if it was a black car ... that's a different story.

Because people are often looking for things to be a bit more even balanced.

Sorry to the expert detailer, but when I look at this photo, my eyes travel straight to the Sierra:
Anyone else have this happen to them? |

Best comment here mate. A lot on here are too quick to try take the car down a peg when most here drive "just" falcons. I don't care if they are FPV's or XR's, they are still Falcons. That VXR Nurburgring is arguably a more purposeful vehicle than any Falcon. Just appreciate what is being done by a detailing pro (no matter how OTT it seems), or shut up and move on to the next thread. |

Danny give it a rest mate, you're making far too much sense.

Spends 7k on wax jobs... To gain 1500 in trade in value.
Doesn't drive the car for months on end to apply 51.. 51! Layers of sealant, which he admits doesn't make a difference after 7-8!! This bloke is out of his bloody mind. Think of the water/electricity he must waste washing an 18k car. To shame. |

I just can't understand why he didn't pick a colour that would showcase his OCD, I mean detailing obsession. Like black perhaps.

The whole Nurburgring thing is a bit weird to me as well:
"The Astra's spiritual home" - ummm, surely that would be in a product development meeting, wouldn't it? Plus, I see some Audis and other Euro cars in traffic with the Nurburgring track map stuck on their rear panels as well; like they spiritually belong there as well? I'm sure that none of these self-proclaimed 'spiritual' expats would even be able to find themselves around the Nurburgring. Anyways, just saying, that's all. |

I thought my brother was crazy for paying $450 to get his vy clubsport detailed. At least his was black. This guy is over the top.
I showed the detailer the link for that car and he said it wasn't needed because you get to the point where you cant make it any better. It took the detailer 2 days to do my brothers car ( paint only) and honestly i couldnt see how it could get any better, at least not with factory paint job |
