All who feel like sticking the boot into Ford remember there is a new section of the T&C which precludes "Ford bashing".

What about external advertising agency bashing? But in all seriousness I will tone it down.

Just saw an ad on TV for the EcoBoost Falcon - first one I've seen for ages!

Wasn't bad either - sold the message quite well.

But I just checked ford.com.au and it indicates the EB is only available on G6 and G6E... So it is available on XT?

They need Mike Rowe, and advertise it similar to how the F150 Ecoboost was.

The 'Torture test' series of videos is probably one of the best marketing campaigns Ford has ever put out.

If they do a similar series with the Falcon I think it would get people interested.

For example:

250k kms of Dyno Testing
Transporting a bunch of people up a steep mountain
24hr round a race circuit
Towing comparison between a 3L Omega and maybe an SUV

The Ford website needs some work as it is missing alot of info on the XR6 turbo and the XT. Try and 'build and quote' either of those models or look at their specs.

Ford if you are reading this, your marketing of the EB Falcon has worked wonders!!

With deals like the one below I don't understand why Ford can not push the EB XT at 29990 drive-away with a good finance deal. If they are selling near new demos for low 20's surely they can do something around the 30k mark drive-away to stimulate some sales??

Is there actually a Falcon Ecoboost add, or is everyone getting confused with the Mondeo one?

Did you actually read the quote form the T&C?

If you have a legitimate experience there is no issue, the warning in only for those who are just hell bent in deriding Ford.

e.g. "I have a Ford and its wheels fell off" is not Ford bashing if you actually had a Ford and its wheels fell off.

On the other hand 50 gazillion posts with a central theme of "Fords are crap because their wheels fell off, Ford engineers are crap, Ford Marketing is crap, Ford is crap" will draw the crabs....

That is what I meant about looking for the specs. Now do the same for the xr6 turbo. Then try and 'build and quote'.

Its the old conundrum, how to develop a great add without employing an arts graduate who usually has no understanding of the sciences which you need to get that message across.

Coming from the front line ecoboost Falcon hasn't been selling which frustrates me a hell of a lot. We have tried from our end with a lot of different angles on creating interest but we don't get the traffic. We have a demo G6 advertised at $29,990 drive away for God's sake!

I've driven this demo quite a few times and I always come back thinking this is such a nice car. I'd buy it over the 6 any day. To bad I can't get it in an XR.

There needs to be a national campaign on XT Ecoboost. $29,990 driveaway.

The EcoBoost should be, and probably is, targetted for fleets mainly. It complies with the absurd 4cylinder preference that the ACT NSW and Qld State govts have.

Ahh, so that's how they avoid supporting Ford and Holden production .

A police pack Falcon Ecoboost would be a good police unit - especially with the amount of kms they do.

Does anyone know whether the various police forces have even made inquiries regrading the Ecoboost Falcon?

Is this the same Govco brick wall that Ecoboost ran into with "Emission rating" BS on the green car guide?

Mate, I'm sure you'll love it! I've got 16000 kms on mine now with trips to Brissy and Melbourne. As I've mentioned before, I got from Melbourne to Sydney on a single tank. Brissy saw me needing to get fuel half way between Gold Coast and Brissy. Its awesome on the highway and really great on fuel. The gearing has been setup to keep the car at around 2000 rpm (peak torque) at 110kms/hr which makes overtaking really good and reduces the number of drop downs when it comes to hills.

I might add that I have debadged my car so no one will know its a G6E or Ecoboost from the back (not because I'm hiding anything, I've done the same on my XR8).

It still boggles the mind that they arent selling well cause its really an amazingly well made car. The less weight through the twisty's makes it so much fun for a soft sprung car. The dynamics are fantastic for a big car with the non sports suspension.
