Crappy day, not just for Ford lovers and workers, but for the Australian car industry itself.
How long until the Bathurst V8 race is Mustang v Camaro?

will be sorely missed though, my old man bought ALL his falcons new from corty to BA XR6T. His passion for the brand rubbed off on me, and hence why im here, although i could never afford a new one of my own they were simple solid cars you could easily fall in love with. |

Ithink of the all the Falcons Fairlanes and Territorys of not really a family car or a car but as a part of the family that's always been there and on a few occasions stood up in a time of need. the great times can't be replaced The Ride is not over yet let's make the next 3 years the BEST 3 years dust off the great name plates like Fairmont and XR8 and ESP for example and make it a celebration of 50 |

Thanks Ford I love my GT but I understand why you are doing this. It is better to make this hard decision and live to fight for another day than to try and stay and continue to lose money.

Here's hoping they go out on a high note and do some great limited edition models to celebrate the final Falcon.

I have to say a big thank you to Ford and FPV for the F6, a car that had me the most excited I have ever been for a car I could afford.
Whilst I think the Falcon and Commodore were on par with quality etc I thought the Falcon had more to offer me driveline wise than the other, as a personal thank you I will be getting one of the last model F6's produced.

Thank you Ford of Australia, past and present employees for some of the best cars Australia has produced. But as the old saying goes all good things must come to an end, it just sucks that its happening in my generation.
My first car was an EL Falcon Futura loved that car for five years, then moved onto the awesome FPV GT. Most likely get myself the final ever generation falcon. The Falcon will always have a place in my soul.

A friend sent me a text this morning and let me know the bad news. It's pretty bittersweet moment as last night we just signed on the dotted line for a new awd titanium territory. We take delivery in about 4 weeks and we can't wait, though we're gonna have to find room in the budget for something with an fpv badge on it prior to October 2016.

Crap day for Ford fans, families of workers effected and the industry in general.
However... Just bought myself a "sensible family car" replacement for my beloved Turbo EL XR6... And its a AU XR8 220 :-) Its a wonderful car, testament to what could be done here. Probably have to put up with crap by the more ignorant individuals out there that will rejoice in the fact that the falcon is no more. Comments like "what are you going to do when you can't by parts anymore... Honestly, big whoop. I've got my Aussie ford muscle, and im proud of it...glad to be part of it. Thanks ford!

I am truly proud to be Australian because of Ford Australia's I6. Grandpa's Axe is what Wheels calls it. It has come so far. I've owned an XD, an XF, an EL and now an FG EcoLPi. What an engine!
Thank you to every hard working employee of the foundries in Geelong and the engineering and manufacturing plants in Broadmeadows for all your valiant efforts over the last two and a half generations of Australian history. May the next three years see you valued and celebrated for all your good work. There are many Aussies that are grateful for their Falcons and its derivatives. I am most certainly one of them!

Thank you FOA for making some incredible machines, I'd say you got it right tuning them for this country more often than your competitors, I'm glad I got to buy a new Territory from you as well. |

I will continue to drive Falcons as long as possible. No foreign-manufactured car will ever give me that little thrill every morning when hearing the 5.0 Windsor fire into life. 440,000 km and still a head-turning car that's a pleasure to drive. Let's see what a current car is like after 19 years and those sort of kays! No amount of techno gadgets and flashy plastic will ever replace what Falcon has always had: CHARACTER. I'm sorry that it took an American decision to end decades of Australian Falcon heritage but life goes on. Mike

My XB coupe with 380,000km on it has been more reliable than many new cars, and it sits on the road at highway speeds better than just about all of them.
I'm about to take my XH ute down an 800km 4wd track, there's not much else that will handle those roads, with a big load, then comfortably do 130 all day once I hit the bitumen. To those who made these machines, thank-you and your legacy will be around for a very long time.

Thanks to ford oz and it workers, have had my falcon for 8 ish years now and it has been the best car i have ever owned in my 35 years of driving, its done many miles towing my old van across australia without a single problem(still trying to wear the bastard out !), my only regret is i didnt have the coin to buy a new falcon and support the workers and ford oz.
best of luck in the future. |

Reminds of the day when Ford stopped production in NZ way back in '97. Was a sad day then but it's a sadder day for Australia.
LONG LIVE THE FALCON!

A couple of months back I bought the latest model car I have ever owned and its 14 years old soon. A 99 AU 5ltr fairmont wagon . I have owned nearly every model falcon there is since the XR including sedans ,wagons ,utes and P/vans. I loved most of them and am a dedicated Ford man. While I Love FoMoCo , The decisions to drop the V8 in the 80's and yesterdays bombshell , broke my heart , but I will always love the Ford product (well most of them anyways) and will continue to drive Ford falcons for the rest of my life! I have no desire to own a new car as the old ones are more than good enough ! Thanks Ford and its faithful passionate employees over the years for making my world the place it is !

The legendary FALCON is still with us for the next 3 years and im going to enjoy ever minute of it, I love going to different ford dealers and just look at the different falcons on display, been doing this since the EA Falcon days and will continue to do this til the end. Thank You Ford Australia, but please send the Falcon out with a BANG for the final ever falcon.
