I got a soft brush not unlike a dust pan brush only soft from a $2 shop and I can get in round the spokes so every time I wash is to spray the wheels with a trigger pack full of car wash to soften it all up then get in there and go nuts, roll the car forward so I can do the part that caliper stopped access and repeat IMHO it really finishes the wash off

If you have the time I think it's a good idea to do this regularly, just a thought though would removing a large amount of crud effect the balance of the wheel?

A car is only as clean as its wheels.
