It was made for the US GM executive Max Wilson as he was not a sedan person they made 2 a HJ and a HX , I doubt if they ever even thought about doing a production run

I think it might have been the start of Leo Pruneau's thinking with his HX LE Coupé.

The LE HX was to use up the rest of the leftover coupe bodies.

Just like the later idea with the SLE Statesman while they re tooled, to release the all new WB body shape.

That's correct, but there are too many similarities between this car & an LE for it to be a coincidence.

AFAIK the LE prototype was an HJ.

Yeah I had one years ago, woodgrain accents, GTS steering wheel in beige, GTS woodgrain dash, SL/E type alloys, Nice car for the time

Yes, certainly a nice car I reckon I could live with even now. There was one I saw recently for sale like the brochure one.

Not to badly priced by comparison to Monaro's and Sandman's of the same era.
