Sig below.
Had it almost three years. Got it at about 197k, now at 222,280k. Not sure whether or not to keep and mod, keep and keep it running, or sell it.

Technically it's my VP Commodore as it's the first car in my name.
But my first car was a 77 Gemini. Worked lowered Kermit green. Clock a fast 0-100 time 4 speed manual. Had this weird problem with the fuel pump when up it hard it would loose fuel pressure bad About 2nd gear 120kp/h into 3rd it just spluttered hard. 10 fuel pumps and tanks later nothing worked. So there went a track time for it:(. Never did fix it.

my very first car was a mini, I bought it from the next door neighbours for $150, it didn't go but with help from Dad & a lot of persistance we got it going & I drove it around my parents property. I crashed it into a few trees (nothing major, usually when I was playing silly buggers) & then sold it for $150 I had heaps of fun in that car.

First car was a 1958 Morris Minor 1000 panel van.

Bought off the old dear next door in 1967 for $60. 57000 miles on the clock.

Couldn't kill it with a stick. A mate and I used to train at Percy Cerutty's at Sorrento Vic and we'd travel down from Sydney quite often in the Moggy.

Speedo used to go up to 80 MPH and about 1/2" further around was the ignition light.

Honestly, I drove most of the way there and back with the speedo needle on "ignition light" and it never missed a beat. I'm not sure how many miles I did in it but I had it for three years and passed it on to my young brother.

It ended it's days as a storage shed (the panel van part of it) down the back of Dad's yard. It's probably still there, lol.

My first car was a 1980 Ford LTD Sedan Paid $7500 for it about 9 yrs ago now. Then it got pinched!! The day before my birthday in August and was found Fathers Day up in Mt Evelyn 'stripped' Sold it to Ford wreckers and got $250 for it. I loved that car!! It ran on gas, back then the gas was cheap about 18cents a litre I think. It had power windows, powered seats and a sunroof!

1974 P76 4.4 V8 Auto. Bought it for 400 bucksin 1988, it used 4 litres of woolies oil a week, top speed 115 mph. Great burnout mobile. Got me into trouble with the cops and TAFE simultaneousely when one lunchetime five apprentice mecanics went out on a speed and mayhem mission. Went over 15k limit train bridge at 85 mph(big air) then proceeded to do donuts on the police boys club oval (with cops watching) then came back to tafe workshop and proceeded to fill it with tyre smoke! We then proceeded to casually go back to our holden engine projects for the day as if nothing had happened when the principal and 2 cops walked in and dragged us away. We got away lightly, only having to re seed the footy field we damaged and clean the police boys club.
I can't believe I'm still alive!!

When I left school I worked on our farm for 6 months & things were "pretty tight" & only worked for Pocket Money..., so when dad sold out he bought me an XK Falcon similar to this one :-

(This one belonged to a mate for a little while) Mine was White with Red roof & Flash . After about 12 months the brakes went , g/box went , clutch went etc.. (not from thrashing it , nothing would make me speed because I only wanted my "P's" for 12 months and NO longer) traded it for a MK 11 "L" 1600 Cortina 4 sp.

Wish I would have kept this car , only got $150 trade , :

This is my girl. She a April 1985 (one month after i was born) xf sedan. She never had no power steering, she was fuel injected running on super/leaded fuel. She was great. I ended up giving her away to a guy for free cause i had to move her.

I've still got my first car. 1989 TX5 Ghia 5spd. I've had it for about 4-5 years and only clocked up about 40000kms. Awesome car, great handling, pretty quick, very comfortable, I love it. Unfortunately though some things need to be fixed and it is not financially feasible for me to do so, and I will be buying a new car soon. It has however, never broken down or failed to start despite it's age.

If I had the time and knowledge I would fix it and keep saving, but I don't have enough of both to do so. Even if someone bought it and spent some $ it would be a good buy, as I've put quite a bit into it.

It will be a sad day to see it go. You always get attatched to your first car.

First proper car i had was an Bermuda Green EL Falcon OPT 20 Sedan- Bought it with 132,000klms was a beautiful looking car. I loved the the options it had but it had issues (or maybe i was obsessive). It had Tickford Susp, LSD, ABS, Sump guard all the good stuff;Anyhow the thing cost be about 3 grand in the time i owned it, plus i lost about 2 grand in depreciation.

Though technically the first car i owned however was a 5/90 EAII Sedan (4 Speeder) which i inherited when i was younger (too young to drive legally) and sold it to my cousin. That car was immaculate only had 100,000klms on the clock and despite only being a Povo pack GL it looked quite good in White with Blue Interior. Plus most importantly the original owner had some foresight to spend his pennies and got it with 3.9 MPFI Powah.

My first car was my parents old car...
They didn't want me buying a Ford (all holden family) so gave me their 1972 (think that is the correct year) HQ Premier...

She had the bench front seat, colum shift, Gold with White roof and of course the typical holden mags...

Was a really nice car to drive until my brother borrowed it one day and slammed it into a cement wall.. never drove the same again (never drove it again full stop) :

It is still sitting at the back of my grandmother's property in SA :

my first ride was a suby 1800 wagon, i saw it growing in the grass in someones backyard so i asked if he would get rid of it to me, he said what ya got in a ya pocket so i i handed him a 20 and it was mine.

then he gave me the a-frame tow it home and the receipt for the new engine....... and all the underbody bash plates came with 3/4 tank of bang as well ..

i was stoked, a few weeks later int he shed i cut all the rust out and bogged it all up painted her green and coated the rails and wheelarches with ormonoid (brush on bitumen) and fitted a alpine cd player i scrounged for a bit of work and some of dads old sony speakers for the hatch and the pioneers that it came with in the front, got a free set of sunraysia mags for it for a bit of work and whacked some 185's on there. put on some spotties on the roof a UHF and a home made exhaust (just hot dog and 2 1/2 tip) after blowing the old one up with a keybanger. new one was great for keybangers and throwing flames at tailgaters

It was my mobile love shack for a couple of years. reliable as
sadly got rid of her this year for 400 cash as the CV's were dying but it was a great rig when anywhere and sounded pretty mean

For my first car, my parents gave me a Fiat 128 3P.
My girlfriends thought she was cute, so the hatch came in handy at the Drive in Movies. :hihi:

Another N12 Pilot here, late 85 model sedan.

Bought it of my brother when he upgraded to a N14 SSS. This thing had a 2.25 exhaust manifold back (no cat due to pre-unleaded!) with a single sports muffler on it. Apart from that I did a home-short shifter job by cutting the stick and using the hacksaw blade to cut a groove so the gearknob grub screws could catch. The thing used to go very well for what it was, even though it had 65 or so hp stock, but in a 750kg body. Used to rev it out hard, past the redline of 6000 almost to 8, flatchanges, single spinner burnouts. I had really sticky 185s at the front and cheap 155s at the rear, it made it handle really well, to the point it could lift a rear tyre under braking into a corner. Lasted me 1 and a half years before the gearbox blew, rego was due in a few days and had a bit of cancer on certain structual compontents. Piston rings were unheard of.

My first car was a black and yellow Citroen 2CV- 602cc's of twin cyl air cooled fury! It was almost impossible to flip an could top 80mph....for the love of god, why would a car like that be allowed to do such a speed??

It was voted as the most dangerous car ever sold in Europe (chances of surviving an accident were remote) but I loved it with its little rag top and seats that could be removed in seconds to use at picnics...terribly Euro-weeny!

After that, I bought An E28 BMW528i for 60 quid...bloody fast and heavy!

1988 EA Falcon S Pack

Car was as tough as nails, i used to thrash the crap outta it and it always held together, apart from a broken engine mount once.

Had plans for it till some **** stole it and placed it into a tree.

Default The Sporty Corty

Aah yes...Who can forget their first car? 1981 2L TF Cortina. Stock std until the crap position of the weber carb directly above the dizzy to ensure any fuel leak ends up with a pyrotechnics show! The usual story - set of 2nd hand headers off an apprentice mechanic mate, 2" sports system and a Ramflo filter, light rebuild by a small-time engineer which turned out to be an absolutely bulet-proof plant out: which loved to spin out, a set of Globe rims cleaned up and cutomised, stiffened suspension and clutch after clutch after head after clutch...until it just drives you nuts! Then you go and trade it in on another Ford - my EA! Now time to start doing a few things to the old girl and having some fun tinkering with it...

Wish me luck with my 2nd hand gearbox replacement... :

My first car was a 1974 HQ Belmont ute, 173, 3 on the tree.

2nd car was a TE Cortina Ghia, 4.1, auto, finished in "Satin Spruce" with a black vinyl roof.

Slight step up...

Oh God!

A 1985 Daihatsu Scat (same as Toyota Blizzard)

My old man bought it for me from a Westrail auction for $1500- it had the high rail running gear in it (for driving on the train tracks) Unfortunately they took that off (would have been handy :P) It had a 2.8L diesel and a 5 speed with a stuffed 2nd gear synchro. I put the carpet out of the lounge room in it, bought wide sunrasia wheels for it and had it painted- it looked like a giant rollerskate :

18 months my old man and I put into it, getting it right and two months after having my license I wrote it off- I never felt so bad in my life.........

Wouldn't have thought at the time that in 5 years I'd be driving a new TE50........

My first was a 1987 KC Laser GL, had a 1.3L, 4 Speed Manual

By the time id finished with it, it had all Ghia trims and options.
Dropped it 30mm onto some 15' Trispoke Mags, Added a some front rear and side skirts.

What an awesome first car it was and looked really neat
