Thanks Chris. I Think Chris F is going to eventually talk me into putting a cam in it but probably not before Heathcote on the 9th.

I didn't realize (along with everyone else on the forums) there was a N/A AU6 running 13.8s up there.

Whose car would that be?

It's an ED though, not an AU. ED's are a little lighter.

Good Stuff Tri power, I wish I could have had a 60-foot like that, with no edit at the time it was never achievable.
Go the silver AU’s.

Thanks Hamo. I wish the edit was available when I had my XR8s (both manuals). I would love to have seen what they would have done with the same treatment.
Look forward to meeting you at Heathcote.

It's not exactly stock, and it doesn't exactly sit in the engine bay of an AU...

It's in an ED, as far as I know, it has a big cam, exhaust, chip, T5, two piece tailshaft and diff work. I'm pretty sure thats it.

Wow, low 14's is pretty respectable. go the bolt on's!

I'd be happy with getting a 15.5 (apparently that's what my car did out of the factory).

Thats OK mate, I understand. I'm sure I'll make it up there sometime soon. If not for a street meet, then definately for a Top Fuel event. We'll catch up then. :

I was very close to heading up to see Chris on Friday but it's about a 250k round trip to go to ACE then Bluepower. Takes an hour and a half each way to ACE alone. Long way to just drop in for a chat.
(But then again, its very hard to get Chris on the phone!)
I'd say ive probably done about 3000ks, just travelling to ACE over the last 12mths.
But it's been well worth it!!! :evilsasmo

Thumbs up

I was just doing a bit of a search and came up on this thread. after seeing Terry's car at Heathcote last weekend, I am so inspired to start some work on my own AU! That is an awesome AU you have there Terry, I am so impressed on how good it runs with pretty much all bolt on's! I have already done an 3.73 LSD from Northern Diffs, so I am looking at doing up some power. Chris has said he will give it a look with an edit, so I am really excited to join the clan of fast AU I6's! I am not expecting my car to go anywhere near as fast as the XR6HP, but low 15's would be awesome! Keep up the great work guys! :sm_headba

Thanks ClassicAU. Sounds like you're on the right path with your car.

Sorry I wasn't able to put on a bit more of a show on Saturday, being a bit off my best for some reason. 14.7's not what I was expecting. :

But still, I can tell you, you will have a tough car if you can get those low 15's and as you're dealing with Chris, they wont be too far away.

Should be heading back out to Calder fairly soon - (hopefully for some more 14.2's or better) you might find it worthwhile to come out yourself. Traction tends to be a lot better there.

Cheers :

Terry, i think it is time we stopped mucking around with your car and started to get serious. A nice little package arrived from America today that we can use. I will call you tomorrow with a game plan. Unfortunately i can't give you a BA XT 3 valve to run around in while i work on your car but will a Toyota Corona suffice????

Cheers Craig
