Are you sure that for $1000 your not being quoted for a whole exhuast system including extrators...

yeh i beleive it was just for the extractors.. to be honest i dont know buck all about cars as this is the first car that i am slightly working on, (already added exhaust and filter). just seems like $1000 was a bit much for a hunk of welded pipe.

Mate, I'd just ring around and get a few more quotes. I live in Canberra, and got quoted $500 supplied and fitted for pacmaker extractors.... extra $200 for chrome...

far out only $500.. i was at the exhaust shop this morning picking up an air filter, and yes it is $1000 fitted and its just the extractors.. i could get the damn things shipped to melb from canberra for $550... hrmm i will ring around a few more places and find out, but if you dont mind giving me the name and contact number of the place you get them that cheap for even if it is in canberra it would be muchly appreciated.
im guessing $370 for an SS Induction kit installed is out of this world too because that is what i was qouted...

You can pick up some Pacemaker Comp Extractors on ebay (inc delivery) for a reasonable cost. Then just get your exhaust joint to install them.

My 2.5" system with hi flow cat, extractors and tip set me back about $1010 all installed (NSW).

cheers for that mate, but unfortunately xr6 and xr8 parts prices are significantly different, but alas i have done some more research and think i can pick up a set of extractors in vic for around $550. its not $500 with installation included like in canberra but meh, sure as hell beats $1000 at the moment even saving $50 on a car part is a big deal as u always need that slab of scotch to help with the mechanical labouring of your loved toy

i've got 3" cat back done recently (she hums lovely notes) and was pleased with the results. would fitting hi flow cats and extractors really give it that much more growl?

Talking FYI - Falcon mild suspension upgrade

I have just had my AUIII lowered and new shocks (rear) and struts (front) fitted by the guys at Pedders in Newcastle NSW - The finished job just broke the $1,000 mark

With no other engine mods - a set of pacemaker extractors, a suitable sports cat and a 2 1/2 inch exaust has made a noted difference, especially at mid-range

How many RWKW would you gain from fitting a 2.5" cat back exhaust ?

that's probably all on a standard tuned car, if you want more out of it then do a full exhaust, intake and then get either a flash tuner or an edit done

only read the first page of this so far, just wanted to say you can lower you au for less then claimed by everyone. If doing it yourself, less then $350 can get you springs, struts and shocks. With IRS I think it was an extra $10 or so.

i raced my mate today (he has a stock vy ss commodore 5.7 and i have a stock series 1 au xr8) and for a great length of it i stayed at least 2 car lengths away. i know they're good for 245kw so what mods do i need to beef up the 185kw my engine without going forced induction

Thought I'd post in here,
1st mod was G&D CAI DYNOED AT 141.9 kw

2nd mod was a full defillipo stainless exhaust system and edit by G&D Performance DYNOED at 161.9 kw.
Totally happy with the performance with such few mods and cost bugger all.

Mick

G&D do all my car mods now. What was JMM has now been entirely replaced with G&D gear. I'm more than happy with the results.
