Some more goodies arrived today courtesy of FTG. Replacement side repeaters. It's amazing how these things age, and until you compare them to new one's you don't realise how much. Now I need a tip to remove them, never done these before and I don't want to mark the paint.

This morning was spent on renewing the finish on the rotors. Since the FPV replicas had a bigger hub print, there was an area of surface rust exposed. This looked horrid with the new rims on, so one by one I removed the wheel, cleaned the surface and masked the calipers. Remember I have little in the way of tools and no axle stands, so one by one it had to be. Sad part is I took these pics hours later, when it was driven in heavy rain. Bummer. I used Satin Black for the job, and I'm pleased with the result.

Another small detail finalised. The billet Oil Cap I had was great, but polished is the theme under my bonnet, and I found one that fits the bay nicely. I will give all the polished stuff a lick before Geelong, but for now the bay is a tad dirty. As you will see by the dust on the windscreen, my workplace is dusty.
The plug/coil cover is next for treatment. |

Next job on the list is under way. I recently got hold of an engine cover for the turbo 6 and had planned to paint it up in colours that worked with what I have. This due mainly to the fact I had heard there were not many colours available in pressure paks, least of all Narooma Blue.. WRONG. I found some Narooma Blue in a spray can, and excitedly went to work.
Stage 1 of the engine cover. Stage 2 soon. |
