hmmmm... maybe at the same price point they might compare. If they have $20,000 that says they will have a GT, they will compare what they can get for that money. Do you get a 200kw (actually more likely 192kw) EB from 1992? or a 290kw GT from 2004? tough decision? |

if its gonna be a daily then the ba makes more sense, safer, faster etc etc the eb though just smokes it for collectability and imo future value. as pointed out earlier, theyre virtually the same price point, says something all right. oh, and it seems its not hard at all to get a ba gt in the mid teens these days, a certain street fords staffer with a thread on these very forums picked up a very nice gt not very long ago. iirc the advertised price was 17k. and he got it for a bit less. and no, its not a flogged high kay example. |

It probably wouldnt' be a tough decision at all - ones a collectable car and one isn't - different markets really. Both good choices I reckon, not saying anything negative about either option, just that the BA will never be as collectable as the EB. It really is incredibly simple to understand the difference between these two cars, and no, it has nothing to do with kw's |

Is it because the EB has better everything else? I really can not compare, as I have only driven a BF Cobra manual sedan, and it was alright, but I thought the build quality was no where near as good as the EB GT. That is just my perspective on the subject. |

So I have the choice of an XA GT RPO83 coupe with a claimed 300hp, being sold for 15k from a little old lady who has no idea what its worth, nor cares, or a BA GT with what 380 hp or so, for around the same price. Based on your theory you'd buy the BA. |

I'd buy the EL GT based on the following... 1. The interiror is the sexiest thing ford has done... 2. The EL GT is still good for high 14 second 1/4 miles...not that it matters... 3. There is less made, and there is no replicas going around. 5. The unique nature of it, it's a much more special car, as Tickford did a hell of alot to it. Plus, its not a BA...

I'm absolutely positive he would! Most likely because he has no idea what an RPO 83 is. Do they come with a vortech?

Never heard of a xa rpo. Neither has 98% of the driving population. Buying old rare car is frought with danger. essentially your buying a less capable vehicle than the modern cars at a higher price. Then 98% of population will think your driving an old clunker and if they hear what you paid...well who knows what they will do.
There is a limited market of people who appreciate these old cars and a even smaller market that will actually pay the inflated price to buy one. I certainly appreciate them but id never pay the price the owners think they are worth. The owners of these old rare cars rest their hat on the theory "theres one born everyday" just dont be the last buyer when the bubble pops. Some will reject this and say you cant place a value on a rare item. The sellers usually do and are trying to cash in before the bubble pops. Last edited by RAPID_BA; 06-07-2012 at 10:38 PM. |

He himself is quick to comment on how each car is worlds apart, the Shelby is definitely no daily driver, each one has it's own character, and personality. some recognise and accept that, others don't, Each to their own! But to even try and compare "classic to plastic", as you put it is and start a discussion around it, thats just plain stupid. An EB GT is a limited production , almost 20 yr old car now, you just cannot compre it to a B series.

I have not turned anything into classic vs plastic.
The op asks about the value of ebay eb gt. I just said not sure of the value as could buy a better car for similar money. Any astute buyer will come to this conclusion. Its only eb gt owners visciously opposing this view (and calling me a twit) and trying to ham up the value. Im just saying what any non eb gt owner thinks. Dont shoot the messenger. |
