78 4 Speed TE Corty.

When I had it it wasnt like this (Dad uses it fotr a work car now) it was blue with mismatching panels. lol

I got it in 2002 before I got my Ls, I originally wanted a VL to start with but I got this so I cant complain.

So in 2003 when I did get my Ls I drove it for about a week then got a VL 5 Speed, huge difference in evertything between the two.

My first car was a 2 door 1972 Mk 1 escort 1300 XL in calfИИИИ yellow, spent loads on it over 3 years, ended up with 2 litre pinto engine, 5 speed seria box, LSD, quick rack steering, nice mags, ricaro seats, etc etc and a nice metelic blue paint job, got stolen twice, never came back the 2nd time.
Those were the days of escorts winning all the ralleys in BDA's, the best sounding ralley car ever! :

My first car? A 1982 TF Gemini Wagon. It was bright red, graphics up the sides, fat tyres and dark tinted windows. It was an absolute God. I got it in 1991, for $4000. It did tend to throw the odd valve, but I loved it to death. I wish I'd never sold it, and would gladly have it back as a runabout.

Since then, I was tortured with holden commodores, a VK, a VP series 2 and a VT Acclaim series 2. Thankfully now I have a BA Futura which is a better car than all of the commodores put together.

I had a trust fund mature in 1993, when I was 18. It was only ~$15,000, however it allowed me to combine some savings and buy a new Toyota Corolla.
Year - 1994
Model - AE92 Corolla CSi Limited
God/Dog - Dog. Its a Corolla. Worst car I have ever owned, and it was a FWD.
Favorite Story - Actually pushing it off the speedo, chasing a mate in his Mazda 626 near Nowra. It wanted to accelerate, but I held it back. It is still in my family. My Sister-in-law has it now. With just over 100,000 on the clock, it isn't worn yet.

First car was a 1970 XW Falcon wagon in Polar White, complete with 188 six, three-on-the-tree, drum brakes all round and red interior with vinyl bench seats. Bought it for the trade-in price of $300 from my parents. It was a dog.
Improved it later on by installing a 302 windsor and 4-pinion diff from an XT, front disc brakes and power booster from an XY, FMX transmission from somewhere or another. It eventually suffered from rust in the front and rear quarters, probably made worse by the multitude of dings in the panels that it had accumulated.
Eventually removed the engine and transmission for rebuilding and use in my next car (XA GS ute) and dropped the remains of the XW at the wreckers.

I wagged school one day with 2 friends & while parents where at work I decided to show my friends how I could drive a car with 4 speed column shift manual. A couple of streets away I hit a gutter & blew a tyre. I drove it home but a neighbour dobbed me in to dad. The car was given to a wreckers & never had a car again until I was 18 with a licence then a XM falcon

Got a 1996 5spd XR6 @ 109 000km, when i turned 18. It came from factory with the tickford kit, optional 16's, dual airbags etc but then got AJR Signatures, lowered springs, exhuast & extractors, stereo put on.

Two years later and its only got 121 000km on it. Hoping to save up and get either an XR6T or R32 GTR in 12+ months.

First car I owned was an XD Fairmont 351. Toughest sounding car I've ever owned and the only one I have sold for more than what I paid for it. Have very fond memories of it.

My first car was a yellow 6 cylinder XB GS Coupe, it cost me $3,000 back in 1992 and I kained that old girl to death as you do when you're 18 and on your P's, I traded it in for $2,000 on a TE Cortina 12 monthes later. I will have a look to see if I can find an old photo to scan and post.

My first car was back in 1987, it was a XB Fairmont, it had a 351, C4, 9" Diff, very dark windows, very low. Lost my license in it doing 220 in a 60 (shouldnt have been a 60 as it was in the country with no houses only sugar cane) what a awesome car that started of my life of X series V8's over the past years.

61 Studebaker Lark ('60 model in USA) .. 259V8, BW auto. Like this:

Bought it for $300, painted it and sold it for $3000 .. which I used to buy my first "registered" car, a '65 Dodge Phoenix.

Rod.

Unlike K Man i had a good experiance with my R31, i had a 1989 R31 Skyline GXE....... Wagon.

Not the car originally set out to get but it proved a good move as it was in great condition and was cheap and relaible, only problem i ever had was with a battery. i had a manual wich apparently arnt too common and i was great fun to drive, having a wagon was also great for goin away or moving stuff, and now when i find myself driving FWD 4cyl cars for work i do miss a good RWD straight 6 wagon.

First car was an '84 camira 4 speed manual, but is was predominently used as a paddock bomb, and saw out it's days in that way. Always used to run it right out of fuel, and not having an electric fuel pump, every time i topped it up with a few litres i had to take the banjo off and prime the carby directly to start it lol. Next was my '85 corona, that thing went like the clappers for what it was.. Then, well.... see below.

Talking My first car

I took my dad shopping for a car and as like all parents he said " we are after something small and sensible", yeah right I said under my breath, anyway we went to this car yard on the sunny coast (QLD) and in there was a hq with a 350 chev roll cage the lot $3500.00 I was immediatly drawn to the V8, dad just about had a heart attack, then I noticed another car down the back and it just had its nose sticking out,I edged my way down and it was a Mazda 808 Coupe yellow with black graphics for $3000.00, I immediatly fellin love with it. Was only small and only had a 1.3L 4 cyl in it but she was a fun car,I put extractors and a full 3 inch pipe straight through, lowered it drastically 3 to 3.5 inches if I remember right, bigger 2lt sigma carby detailed the engine bay. The first time I ran out at willowbank it ran a 19.6 standard by the time of its demise it was down to 17.1. Its demise it the old and sad story Yes "I GOT HIT BY A DAMN VOLVO" and I wasnt even moving. Best experience in this car was being out with my brother and his ford mates cruising, me in mine, them in ZC fairlane running 11's,GT Falcon running 12's etc etc and leaving Sunnybank hotspot at that time, and creating more smoke off the line lock than all four of them. I was happy and they impressed.

I've still got my first car, the good ol' XF. 300 thousand odd kays and still going. A proud pilot of an OPT36 Falcon (OPT36 was the police pack code in the XF days).

A VK Dunnydore called my place home for a week or so in '99 until it was written off by another Dunnydore.

1st car 1972 HQ Holden Sedan, 202 3 on the tree paid $500.00 from a car yard in Ringwood. Over the next 2 years it had 350 Chev, Turbo 350 auto and 9" Diff but left stock on the outside with original wheels and tyres. A real sleeper.

My first car was an 18th birthday present. It's a BA ghia, and I can't stop driving it lol. I've had my license for a month now and still not sick of it. Took it to calder and got 15.0..Not bad for a p-plater. I love the GPS, without it I'd be so lost, I rekon its the best invention for an 18 yr old. Anyway I got a few plans for it coming up...
