yeah i was really supprised how it put me back in the seat for a 6 off the line, the feeling was like my car sitting at bout 3000 in 1st gear rolling then booting it, so it did make the diffrence, i dunoo how good useful its would be on say mine or an equivelant v8, but works wonders on the six

I agree from driving useless AU Auto with his 2500rpm stallie this is a top mod for the I6 which feels so much better off the line.
On the V8 its a waste of time they have 2000-2400rpm stall converters stock. This is maybe why they have the infamous torque tags in the ecu and the sixes don't. |

I just took mine for a 600km drive yesterday.... this is not a mod I would consider for cars that have a higher use factor than 200-300kms a week... economy does suffer. Great fun but you do notice it reving harder on hills etc even in cruise control.

But on highway speeds.... wouldnt it still sit at the same speeds / rpm because there is still converter lock?.... or is that gone?

converter will unlock if the load excedes what is required, and this is on hills..
and would be more likely to happen with a higher stall. i can't work out why yours is running rich useless? or is there a genuine reason for it?

Third gear lock up is only available in third not Drive. So as casper says on the strip use drive and power button which stops the lock up occuring too early and spoiling the run.
Third lock up is for decellerating downhill not for the strip! |
