It's got 352Nm @ 2000rpm to the S2000's 208Nm @ 7500rpm. So it's got 144Nm more torque coming in 5500rpm earlier.

It redline's at 6300rpm - 1000rpm above its power peak. S2000 is 9000rpm, 700rpm above its power peak. So its got a bigger, more useable real spread of power... 2000 - 6000rpm or thereabouts, to the S2000's 7000 - 9000rpm.

Its 1340kg to the S2000's 1253kg, giving it 144.77kW/tonne and 262.68Nm/tonne to the S2000's 140.46kW/tonne and 166Nm/tonne. Advantage Solstice.

The only advantage the S2000 has is the six speed vs five speed manual gearbox. But with a power curve like it has and such, it needs every gear it can get.

And speak of the taxes and yadda yadda, the point is, the Honda still costs more, for an overall inferior product. Not to mention that the Solstice is physically larger, so bigger, taller people can actually drive/sit in the damn thing.

That's your BS opinion mate.... Having obviously never been in an S2000 i fail to see how you can comment. I've been in a couple of different S200's and they pull right through the rev range. Once that VTEC kicks in though, WOW! I nearly crapped myself the first time. Unless you've been in one, don't bother, as all you are doing is showing what an uninformed halfwit you are.

He's been in one as a passenger, but he's never actually driven it himself. :

I bought my car without driving it : It is a whole lot better when you drive it though. I nearly shat my pants when I first drove my car!

Anyways I'd have no problems waking up in the morning and having a S2000 in my driveway just on looks alone. :

Same here. I got my car at the auctions. When I first drove it, it felt like a rocket (compared to my old volvo Lol). I wouldn't mind having an S2000 either :. The engine/exhaust note is just phenomenal.

Yeah, I've never driven one because I litreally can't due to the physical size of the vehicle and myself. The dashboard obstructs my left leg from reaching the clutch pedal... I have to push myself back into the seat as hard as I can and 100% straighten my leg (lock-out position) to get it there, and then I can't move it. It's a tad hard to drive a car when you can't move your leg to operate the clutch....

I've been in one. But aren't you quick to attack someone for nothing. Perhaps you should actually read all the previous posts before posting some drivel like you just did. And if you read what I just posted too, it explains quite clearly (for the third or fourth time in this thread, for those who haven't been paying attention) why I have not driven an S2k.

Well they are a Japanese car! : I've never seen one taller than me and I'm pretty much of average height. No offence since I own a Jap car but just general observation ;)

Jeez how tall are you mate?

6'2" and 116kg. Sort of stocky, bulky build. Lots of cars like that are too small for me. MG TF roadster is an example of another car I don't fit in. So is the Mazda MX-5. And I even had trouble with the Alfa Romeo GTV Spider.

Actually it's not....You might want to use google yourself, several cars get more NA from 2000cc's or less.
See Caterham for one, I think Radical and Tiger also pip the S2000.

To qualify my statement....

S2000 (Aust)- 176kw (236 hp)
S2000 (Japan) - 184 kw (247 hp)
Westfield Sport 2000 S - 250 hp (186 kw) Ford Duratec
Aeon Sportscars GT3 Coupe - choice of 180, 200, 220, 250 or 280 hp (134 to 208 kw) Ford Duratec (not sure on induction of all options though)
Can't find any power figures for the Caterham Jonathan Palmer Special yet, but from memory it was over 200 kw (268 hp). Hopefully someone else will have them.
Oh, all of the above are turn-key complete cars from the factory.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this or not (as i cbf reading all 7 pages) but Renault's Clio Sport........ correct me if i'm wrong, but arent these a 2 litre N/A motor? I dont know the official outputs, but they must be pretty good.

The best Clio Sport 2.0 is the new 197 engine. 145kW @ 7250rpm and 215Nm @ 5250rpm. That's 194hp... or 97hp/litre. They're a very good engine. They don't make close to the power of an S2000... but the torque comes in over 2000rpm earlier... and it has more of it. They're more a competitor for the motor in the new Civic Type R (148kW 2.0) then the motor in the S2k.

My mate tried to convince me that aonther 2ltr was the most powerful production car (new peugot I think) and I thought it was the S2000.

no other interest other than answering my question.
mazda RX-8 Renesis 13Bs make 212 bhp, but N/A 20Bs make around 270 bhp from memory. and race built N/A 26Bs make ~550 bhp

i love my rotaries.

You must be some sort of freak because I'm 6'2 and owned mine for 3 years without a problem. Used to comfortably drive up to winton regularly for track days and I had my seat 2 clicks away from the back.
And yes I have long limbs too.
