Hey there everyone, as the title suggests when I go over a speed hump or turn the wheels at low speed there is a squeak coming from the front end, I have read somewhere on here about this but I can't seem to find it, would anyone be able to help me out as I would like to get rid of this noise.
thanks Whiskers |

Are you sure its not your front disc rotors glazed up that will make a squeaking noise.

I'm not 100% knowledgable on the subject but I had the same problem (squeaking at low speed over bumps) once and everyone kept saying it's the bushes because my car was lowered and the existing bushes didn't like it. I was told I'd have to fit those polynurathene bushes or whatever they're called and I took it to one more place, who simply added some extra lube or something and it has been fixed ever since (a couple of years ago).
Edit: I meant the bushes in the suspension and they added some lube to something there (maybe the strut?).

Alot of the time it is dust getting into the bushes and causing the noise. It seems to be one of those quaint little Ford quirks that has been part of their "charm" since I can remember. Usually the front right for some reason but the left gets it as well, lol. I've heard that same squeak in every model falcon ever made.

I had squeaks and knocks in my front end after 30,000k that 2 dealers couldn't fix in the 3 years' warranty. They'd claim to "tighten up the suspension" and the noises would go away for about 2,000k then come back.
At 180,000k I took the car to a bloke in Singleton (NSW) for a service. He'd gone into business for himself when he got the snits after 15 years as a mechanic in the local Ford dealership. When I drove into his shop he told me the D bushes on my swaybar needed replacing, before I even got out of the car. I said "OK, replace them". The front end hasn't made a noise again until the last couple of weeks - the car now has 310,000k up. It now makes a "graunch" when it leans on the right front wheel - as when cornering enthusiastically to the left. |
