Unless in that same job you can go on to earn squillions and have a great career (i.e promotions) stick with school, you've got half a year left mate, no point wasting 12 years of it and not finishing it.

Yea would be stupid coming this far. Only a bit over a term left. I was thinking of doing the same thing to join the airforce but then decided to stick it out, now my grades at the moment are by far good enough to get into engineering at uni so thats where im hoping to be heading. But goodluck with whatever u choose..

In some fields, you'll find it works like this:

1) Leave school, take the job, start off on what seems like a pretty good salary, and stay there the rest of your life.

2) Stay in school, go into higher education if you want, get a job after you've finished studying, start off on what seems like relatively little pay, but then work your way up the food chain reasonably quickly and end up in a comfortable job.

Finish Yr12, even if you dont go on with your schooling you'll still have that option if you wanna go on. And yes finishing yr12 does make a difference.

have you asked your boss if he's happy to wait another 6 months for you to finish school and then offer you the same stuff at the end of december?

I left school at 16 (end of year 10)
Went straight to tafe for 10 weeks got a engineering certificate what helped me get my job.

I'm 17 now just started my second year of the apprenticeship on 3rd year wadges. Also doing night school.

Couldn't be happier with the choices I made because once I finish the apprenticeship I can go on to do a diploma if I want to.

left school year 10 became a mechanic, wasnt for me did a few courses and now i'm 35 earning comparabul coin to my mates that did the year 12 uni bit but its been a bloody hard slog to match, I love my current job but I couldnt be in it if I hadnt sharpend my self up,

so my point is its alot simper to do the next 6 months than bust a gut in a few years if you deside you want somthing else

o and in case you havent noticed I still cant spell

Go year 12 man.

I nearly left in grade 10, turns out doing grade 12 was a good decision.

I wouldn't be in the job I am in now without my gr12 cert.

And besides, you are half way there =P

As others have said, if its something you can go and do, and make a successful career out of with view for promotion, then go for it.

I made the choice to leave at the end of Yr 11 and scored a Traineeship.
And now I'm the youngest manager in the company.
Best decision I've ever made.

Cheers

Just quit man if your just going to do tire fitting after you leave anyway. Im 17 and I left school at the start of this year to do concreting, Im now pulling $750 a week just as a labourer. Wasnt much point stayin in school for the rest of the year when i was just going to go full time with the same concretor after i left anyway.

I to thought the same thing at the start of the year but now i think at the moment ive got the best of both worlds. What i currently do is a school based aprenticeship and i strongly suggest asking your boss about it. Im also a yr 12 student and at the start of the year i signed up as a diesel mechanic. I work 1 day a week and get payed proper 1st year wages, Attend tafe 1 day a week to complete the book work (ive completed my fisrt year books already), and the other 3 days im at school. Its a great way to get out of school for a couple days, make some money, and complete yr 12. I really suggest you ask your boss about it. He also get the aprentice bonus and o do you. I just recieved my Tools for your trade voucher and i get the same cash bonus's as someone working full time.

School sucks, I know. I'm currently completing Year 12 and completing Automotive Cert II. I just want to pass year 12 to keep the window open to study further.

Stay in school mate!

The cert 2 you do at school is a great help. I completed mine at the end of year 11, got my school based aprenticship, went to tafe and i got 5 moduls ticked off straight away. I reccomend anyone who wants to get into an automotive field do it
