Default 12.17@115 Gt-p

Took the GT-P to willowbank tonight. Happy as a pig in sh!t.

12.17@115 1.84 60".

It's the first run with the Vortech fitted. Still got a couple of issues to sort out and hopefully crack an 11 next time out.

The car was exactly as driven every day except for some MT ET street radials on the back.

V2 with custom air-air intercooler. Other mods are exhaust, injectors and fuel pump, so cost more than $5k all up.

It's a BF 6sp auto - standard stall.

The goal is mid 11 street machine. It's getting there.

Its good to see some 6 speed auto Boss powered cars out there, your 60 foot looks even better now with standard stall and we still don't have software for the ZF auto...
Good luck and look after your drive shafts..

PS: Any pics of your engine bay here?

Most Impressive for the $$$ spent.

Has this mod affected your warranty.............

Seriously though, can you give us a blurb on how the car "drives" now in relation to power band, driveability, fuel consumption , idle etc.......

Engine bay looks fantastic.......

Very very nice setup, i wondered how they would have plumbed up that outlet and it came out awsome.

I'd hate to ask how much for the pipework cost tho : , i've had a few kits made up and got alloy pipework done and it isn't cheap. Most of it was fairly straight forward to.

Thanks Chris. It's definately similar up top, but gets there much more smoothly.

The XR6T gave a real thump in the back when it came on boost. The GT ramps up in a more "linear" fashion. It's bloody deceptive really. I was hoping for a high 12 and really stoked to get so deep into the 12's. If it was a bit cooler an 11 might have even been on the cards (track temp 23, 80% humidity, 298RA).

I've been seriously wondering if I'd jumped the gun too early in getting the Vortech, now you've got the KB kits out. I can't wait to see one in the flesh. You'll have to get one of the QLD buyers to give me a hollar so I can have a look - and maybe a drive.

I'm down in Sept for the fordxr6turbo.com Vic Big Weekend, so I'll catch up with you then mate. Looking forward to a run around Calder.

LOL at warranty. Do you think they'd notice? LOL

"Smooth" is the word that comes to mind mostly. It's very streetable and I don't think is as much of a tyre-fryer down low as the PD blowers. It's still has sh!tloads more in the lower rev range than stock though (as evidenced by the decent 60"). Fuel consumption has jumped a little, but of course the right foot is being excercised more often with the newfound grunt.

After coming out of a low 11sec XR6T, the GT felt VERY slow stock and extremely "douhgy" down low. A tune made it a little more enjoyable, but now, it's a joy to drive and I find myself looking for excuses to go for a spin.

One of the reasons I went the Vortech was the fact that the power is a little more gradual. I wanted something that the Mrs could drive (when I'm pi55ed) and feel comfortable in (she was scared to drive the XR6T) - the vortech fits that bill perfectly. It'll still step out if you gun it, but it's less severe and more predictable.

With so many great choices in blower ATM, I hope we see a lot more forced 8's running around. Anyone who's got an 8, do youself a favour and force feed your baby.

Yes Nizpro can play with firmness using the current tuning software, going for to much kills the auto in a BIG hurry.
What we need is to get off the line on boost...we need real ZF software allow hi-stalls etc:

Sorry Sutty back to your S/C GT...

Phil,

I wouldn't bee too concerned about this - we would love to sell more blowers etc etc however important point of note is that the reverse mount Vortech is a great unit, well priced and works a treat in the BF with the gearbox ratio's.

We have a client in the 12.1's with the same setup you have - however he also has 4.1 gears and only a 4spd autp, (tall first gear) so looking at the numbers and they dont lie, your setup is a good one.

Well done again mate and good driving!!

I had to move from AAMI ($1200 yr) to Just Cars ($1300 yr) and higher excess.

AAMI would accept the charger on it's own, but the other mods put me over their 3 mod limit.
