Default Looking for a BA ute - anything special to check or that I should know

Hi guy's I'm looking around for a BA 04 XR8 or newer Ute.

I've fond a few one that's an 05 with 80,000kms for $25,000 that's orange (that's or black is the colour I wanted) that's got all the extras and a factory hard top and is a 4 speed auto.

The other is Green (just not sure on the colour) its only got 40,000kms and is like brand new. It's a Manual and is $30,000 also with all the extras like the hard top.

I don't know what to get, so I'm hoping someone might be able to offer any advice or hints on what to look out for with these models. That way one might be better in one area and I'll go that way.

Thanks heaps.

i just bought u bf xr6 ute with 23000km for $31000. the torque of the xr8 above 4000rpm is awesome though. mine is auto and is so responsive and smooth. recomend the auto's to anyone, although the manual is great fun

Your crazy for looking at a 4 speed auto - 6 speed auto or nothing.

I prefer manual in my cars but the lazy delivery of these engines does suit auto pretty well (and the ZF box is a gem) whereas the manual box is liek shifting a bucket full of bolts (like any Ford/Holden manual really).

Came in with the BF which I think was late '05, and only for all V8 and upmarket 6cyl models. It was the standard auto on XR8s, XR6Ts and optional on NA XR6s, plus standard on the 'mont etc. The BAs only had 4spd autos.
