Default rear view mirrow

My rear view mirrow has fallen off the part which is glued to window.

Doesnt seem i can attached it back to the black sorround which is glued on window ?

How do i remove the part glued to window ? heat ? seems to really stuck on there ..........

mine came off and I took it down to a windscreen fitting place and they put it back on for nothing, I think its a special kinda glue that they use, it takes about 5 mins to do.

So .... is the base still stuck to the window????
Mine actually snapped off and I couldn't get the mount off the window.

Lucky for me I needed my windscreen replaced do to a massive crack from top to bottom ... the windscreen the guy that came out said trying to remove them can actually crack windscreens.

I had a brand new mirror sitting inside anyway and got him to install the new one for me. There's a metal base under the mount that clips in place as well.

Best to get a windscreen place to have a look at it.
