Default Goodbye ya'll.

It's been about 3 and half years since I purchased the AU and for that time, I've been a member on AUfalcon.com.. in a bittersweet moment, the AU is gone. In it's place I've traded up to a BA xr6.

I may not be the most know, vocal or active member, but thanks guys and girls, for all the help in the past, the memories, the comments and for being such an ever growing, informed and entertaining part of the forum & Ford community.

Good to hear you've had fun with your AU, and I don't blame you for trading up, the AU is starting to be infiltrated by the mutants from below.

are you saying you dont like AUs as much because of the community or are you saying the car is just getting old...? if youd trade up on a good car just because you dont like other people who drive similar cars then that is just plain silly

Agreed.

When the AU was sitting near the xr6, the AU was looking well past its used by date, and saying that it was in very good condition for a series 1.

Yeah that's right onfire, i had that situation when i bought my AU, i was going to buy a 98 EL because i wasn't sold on the AU shape at that stage, but i saw another AU next to an EL and the EL just looked positively prehistoric by comparison. And now the AU is heading down the same path...

I think most AU models have aged well IMO. Id much prefer my TE50 then a B Series XR6/8 (no offence to any that own them or onfire) i considered it myself. But my TE has a soul that NO other car ive driven can match.

AUII/III XR > B series XR.

Well i've only had mine just over 8 months and I intend to keep it for a good few years to come, bloody nice car, even with the hassles of fixing an older model

Congrats on the upgrade mate, I'm sure you'll enjoy the new steed.

I for one won't be upgrading my AU anytime soon, I have it just how I want it and I can't justify spending more money on something I will pour more money into anyway.

Considering that an AU is to an FG, what an EA is to an AU; Id say the AU has aged quite well.

I think it has a lot to do with AU and VT being the first 21st century Falcon and Commodore introducing the 'bubble' cabin (vs the previous generations' squared off jobbies) as well as the AU's overall 'futuristic' styling.

It is nice to upgrade a to a newer car for the improved creature comforts though.
