Default Getting doors of a Mk 2 Escort

Hi All.

I'm in the process of dismantling my doors, and I've noticed a couple of door hinge pins missing. I thought that while the doors are apart, I might as well take them off & clean the hinge assemblies etc. I was wondering if anyone can give me any tips on removing the intact door hinges? I can't see any obvious starting point for getting them out.

If you remove the centre pillar trims in a 4 door you will find the 13mm nuts that hold the hinge on and if you remove the front inner kick trim the nuts are also in there for the front door and up high behind the dash panel inside the door pillar you will find the top nuts

Ekkie.... stop asking hard questions

you may be able to find the hinge pin

this ebayer has a lot of mark I doors so may have hinges ?

the australian ford escort parts supplier we used to use closed up shop

source of a new hinge would be the UK possibly

Or use 8mm bolts and nylocks like I have. makes future removal that much easier.
Unless the hinge itself has worn oval or oversized then its a bit harder but try running a 9mm ream through them and 9mm bolt.

Hi, Thanks for your help. It is the holes that are slotted so guess I'll go for the 9mm bolt idea. Thanks again.
