You can get a regrind cam, around 150 to 200 mark, all you need to do is add a extra shim in each lifter, its a cheaper way then paying 450 for a forged one

Also you can get them ground so you dont need any computer modifications done but you will probally be suffering a lil power loss,

Wade cam come to mind I had one in my EF and it did pretty good. Read an autospeed doc on a JMM cam and it failed hard.

Myself, Stav, Stattic, OED666 (not an AU I know), Stiddy, 510AU all run Surecam Billet cams. All have had good results, all have been happy. They are billet, and dont require shim, but you pretty much will need a tune to be able to drive it.

Ok, putting in the cam yourself if its a billet is easy as, see my thread here:

As for cost:
Cam - $550
Vernier gear - $220
Install - Free
Tune - Around $1000 mark
I honestly think there are better mods for the money, best being diff gears.
But in saying that, I still love it, everytime I start it.

It has put out 154kw with the 3.9's and 3000rpm stall, not dialled in.
It also ran a few 14.6's on different nights, at around 95-96mph.

Awesome work mate. Do you have a video of what the idle sounds like? I'd love to hear it.

lol, I already commented on this video. Didnt realize this was your car. That is probably the best sounding cam I have heard on an AU. Love it.

Would this work on a boosted AU???

Umm, Ive been told yes by lots of people and no by lots of people.
Yes by Chiptorque for a s/c app, no by the turbo gurus. The cam is .535 lift, 218@.050 duration and 114 lobe sep I think. If you want to ring and ask someone, you can use my specs. It will be for sale soon ;)

Well thankfully for me I have a s/c bolted to my car. hehehe.

But will do some investigating as I love the sound that cam gives. 114lsa is perfect too for auto. But I will need a stall and diff gears no doubt.

Hmmmm....means I'll have to offload the Wade AU1645 regrind I have in my shed.

Decisions decisions
