What should I gap my vct plugs at? Using platinum plugs.

I recommend 1.1 mm if running on petrol - 0.8 for LPG.
If you use the recommended 1.3mm you will overlaod your coil packs as the plug electrode wears away and the gap increases over the life of the plugs. If you are prepared to check and regap your plugs every 10,000km then go for the 1.3mm. For me that negates the benefit of buying platinum plugs which usually don't need to be removed/replaced for at least 50,000km. |
