Howdy, just found this website http://www.steelpanels.co.uk/index.html
Looks like a godsend for capri (and other) body repairs. Does anyone have any experience with these body repair panels? Would they be as simple as cut old section out, cut new section to fit, weld panel in? Or is it not that simple? Also, how good and accurate are they? Are there any alternatives out there? I am no metalworker so I can't fabricate panel sections myself that would look any good. Would it be wiser to just go to a pro? |

This crowd have been around for year and years....like 20+ years (in my boook bought in 1990....).
No experience unfortunately. Last time I priced a few years ago, the GBP to OZ$ was horrendous. However, post-GFC might be more viable. There are other suppliers in OZ , depending on what you want and may work out cheaper after freight for bulky items like panels. |

Just received a shipment from Ex-Pressed for my Anglia. The stuff looks top notch. I haven't started fitting yet but I would have to say they are very good. There is currently a 3-4 month lead time on panels because they are so busy which I guess speaks for itself! I got a lot of stuff $1340 worth (786GBP). Freight was $400 and then duties and GST when coming through customs was $270. Not cheap by any means but I got some stuff made locally for a floor section that was $200, if you can't fabricate panels yourself you will pay more to get stuff made locally than from ex-pressed. I have an Anglia build thread on the Classic Ford Forum if you wanrt to have a look at what I have bought. Steve. |
