what type of red should i paint my xr8?

hey everybody

i have a monza red 91 series-1 EB XR8,the paint is currently peeling on it and i was thinking about giving it a respray.After racking my brain for a couple of hours and talking with my dad,i thought i would come here for some help.Basically i can paint it any shade of red,but i would prefer to paint it in a 'ford' red.I have seen 'regency red' and i'm not really a fan,but i was also thinking maybe the 'track red' that came out on the xy gt.

if you have any suggestions on what type of red i should get,please post the name of the red and the model it came out on.

Venom .. Seduce always reminds me of "vintage burgundy metallic" they used to paint old ZB Fairlanes .. Not that's there's anything wrong with that

i prefer the metallic colours.

seduce can look purple/burgandy in some low loight conditions but in bright sunlight is almost like candy apple red. has a lot of metallic in it and looks great. i didn't buy my car because of the colour but it has grown on me a lot.

I love Seduce and also that candy red on the Mustang. I also love Sparkling Burgundy and a deep cherry red/almost purple is an awesome colour too. HOWEVER I really don't think it'd suit the rest of the car in this instance, especially the grey interior and lack of chrome that an EB (especially XR8-S) generally has.

Personally, I think Venom red (from the AU era) would look good though it's reasonably close to Monza (are you sure yours isn't LeMans red though)?

My vote would need to be for TRACK RED just because of the heritage and I think it'd suit the EB. You'll have two advantages with going a solid red and that is that the solid will be easier to spray and look right if you're doing a back-yard job and also if it's not a dramatically different shade of red (just brighter etc) then you'll get away with not doing the engine bay and other hidden bits.

My old XD ESP was Monza Red so I'm quite partial to it but I've thought about it as my wagon (Le Mans Red) might get done one day. One colour that has caught my eye is the metalic red on the latest release of the focus - don't know what it's called but looks great when the sun hits it.

My dads BF Turbo is seduce, looks great in bright sunlight but dulls a little in darker light.

I really wish they had of made it one or 2 shades lighter to bring it closer to a real Candy Apple Red shade.

I'd just go for monza again. You know it'll look great on the car and will suit the shape and 90s style. Stick with the factory colour I say.

Seduce is a fantastic colour, I love it, but Monza, as well a being pretty cool, is original colour and this will pay dividends in the long term.
