Police are investigating after three cars were stolen from a car dealership at Geebung yesterday afternoon.
Around 5.20pm police attended Bilson Road following reports of a car on fire when they were advised that a nearby car dealership had been broken into. Further investigations indicated that a car in the dealership yard had been used to force entry to a roller door. Entry was gained to an office area where cash and keys were stolen. Three new, unregistered, vehicles were then stolen from the yard and were last seen on Bilsen Road around 4pm. The three vehicles are a Fold Falcon XR6 turbo sedan, sunburst in colour; a Ford Falcon Utility, Sunburst in colour; and a Ford FPV GS, blue in colour. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day. Crime Stoppers is a charitable community volunteer organisation working in partnership with the Queensland Police Service. Taken from the QPS Facebook page.

This must be the same robbery that was on 9 News (Brisbane) tonight. They used pictures of an FGII GS and a FGI XR ute as a description of the stolen vehicles, I'm not sure if it's true if the first actually was an FGII or not. Nonetheless, I hope they catch the crooks.

Most dealerships put the keys in safes now to remove the risk of the kind of stuff happening.... looks like Byrne Ford will be doing the same shortly!

That wouldn't be the service centre towards Virginia would it?
Scary when it's happening in your own backyard. |

Short of stripping them for parts, you have to wonder what they hope to do with them...I mean, brand new, unregistered cars...there will be no warrantee on them, no paperwork, so you couldn't sell them.
I'd be laying money on a lot of parts turning up on Ebay and in the trader magazines soon... |

Maybe they will turn up interstate, can't see how a bunch of brand new spares in the trading post wouldn't go unnoticed.
