Hi all, can anyone help me re: getting a tow bar that will fit underneath my AU2 Tickford rear skirt. I don't want to cut a hole in it.
I've seen pictures and read posts on the forums from people with AU2/3 XRs with tow bars that didn't require any hacking of the kit so I'm pretty sure they're out there. Any help greatly appreciated! |

I've got one on my AU that fits under the Rear Bar, I'll see if I can see a brand on it for you.

There was a fella on here from Kyneton that had a Red AUII XR6 that had a set up that you asked about, I also asked him if he could kindly get some close up pic's for me once to which he very kindly did, but I can't find them anymore.
I think from memory also that the kit did have to be cut a little underneath, but only marginally. |

I submitted an enquiry on the Hayman Reese website and promptly received an email from ARB in Dandenong.
Part number is 01791RL for the towbar (1600kg capacity only for the bar that doesn't require a hole in the bumper) I was quoted $464.00 for the bar plus $100 for fitting. Wiring loom was anywhere from $40 to $200 plus $50-$100 for fitting depending on what I'm after. Does anyone know if these prices sound right? They Seem reasonable to me. |

Price seems pretty good to me. Mine has a long cable in the boot with a round plug on it. So you just hang it out the bottom of through boot when you have a trailer on.

Just a heads up guys the bar with the part number I quoted DOES require a hole cut in the rear bar. There's now one less un-cut AU2 rear skirt in the world (although its a fibreglass copy)
If anyone can come up with the exact brand/part number of a bar that doesn't clash with the AU1, 2, or 3 XR rear skirts post it up please!! |

A bit of a thread jack here, but if anyone can offer advice on the same concern (cutting of bumper) for a AU2 TE50 I'd be most interested.
And +1 on the pics request. |
