Default LW Focus B and C pillar creak

Hi Folks, just wondering if anyone else has encountered the B and C pillar piano black mouldings creaking in sunny weather? Most of mine can be relied on to 'pop' or creak as if expanding or contracting when I drive the car after it has sat in the sun for a while.

The noises will happen at random on the 16k trip home from work for example, and the car does not need to be moving. The driver's door is worst, and will sometimes creak over bumps as well as when stationary.

I have found a few people overseas who have an LW Focus with this issue, and some with other Ford models that also seem to do this; they have a similar moulding. In every post the owners are convinced the noise comes from the mouldings. In one case in the US, the dealer was going to remove and refit the mouldings but the OP never came back with an outcome. Someone else was going to DIY.

I have been to the dealer over this more than once, but of course because the noise is random it is hard to demonstrate. I can certainly make the things creak just by pressing them with my hands, but then most Focus I've seen are like this.

If anyone has had this issue and more importantly got it resolved, I'd love to hear about it.

I've got this issue with my Kuga it appears to be the outside window trim the shiny black bit - i will be speaking again to ford about this when in goes in next.

We also have a lw2 focus & it doesn't have this issue.

It seems Ford has a problem with mounting these trims. I found references to the C Max people mover, Fusion and others. You might like to collect some evidence like this to help your cause. Good luck with it.
