Default Mondeo facelift leaked.

Attached is a leaked photo of what is apparently the facelifted Ford Fusion, which has only just arrived in Australia. It looks OK, although not as classy/mature as the current MD model IMO.

I like it. The lower bumper looks like it's taken off the Mondeo Vignale - it looks great.

This has just made my decision all the more difficult ...

More photo have leaked out: http://www.autoblog.com/2016/01/07/2...ion-spy-shots/

The look has grown on me although I'm not sure and possibly still prefer the cleaner lines of the current model.

The Fusion in that gallery has SPORT badges, however judging from the wheels/bumper could it be a Fusion ST? (as per: http://www.autoblog.com/2015/09/02/f...sion-st-spied/)

Unsurprisingly for an American publication, they seem to have no knowledge of previous Mondeo ST's

Rumours abound of Fusion / Mondeo ST AWD on its way !!!!! Oohh, aaah !!
I'm looking to get something smaller than my MB XR5 soon, but this would only make the decision harder.

Mondeo..... best kept secret of Ford AU.

Wherever I read about the Sport model noted the quad exhaust pipes and speculated about it having a 2.7 V6 ecoboost. I'm pretty sceptical about that. The more obvious engine would be the 2.3 ecoboost. If its good enough for the Mustang it will be good enough for the Mondeo. Either would be good though.
Maybe there will be a 2.3 ST and later a 2.7 V6 RS?

Whether we will get it remains to be seen I suppose.

Im a little surprised its badged as sport instead of ST, so perhaps theyre using it to gauge interest in a higher performance version.

Looks like this is the tragic reality...

Quote:
Ford Australia has maintained that its production is completely separate from the US, meaning the twin-turbo model is unlikely to arrive Down Under unless Ford Europe decides to integrate the V6 Sport into its model line-up.

Could be another lost opportunity to bring a one-FORD global headline model to AUS.
Fingers crossed...maybe when Falcon is truly dead and buried.

I just came across this...

http://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news...ommodore-37959
Quote:
Meanwhile the 2.7-litre twin turbo V6 with all-wheel-drive unveiled in the Ford Fusion Sport sedan is just a taste of more to come.

The Fusion is the US name for the car we know as the Mondeo and Ford of Europe is reportedly working on an even hotter version of the car headed for global markets, including Australia.

Dubbed "Mondeo ST" and sitting above the Fiesta ST and Focus ST, the new model is expected to have a larger and more powerful twin-turbo V6 matched to all-wheel-drive.
I can't find any other sources to substantiate it, but it sounds encouraging...
