What appears to be the next generation Commodore.

I disagree. Would much rather the badge be laid to rest after a stellar run than be slapped on the back of a FWD imported POS.

Purely based on the three photos from top down;

1. The wheels are very similar to the 2009 / 2010 G6E Turbo
2. Trying to replicate the BMW Gear Selector & Plain Dash layout
3. Aston Martin ish tail lights and boot lip shape

I'll pass thanks

It might look better without the crease in the rear quarters. Still it is a Dowling scoop and will probably be nothing like that.

At least the Falcon badge will die with dignity, not slapped on some imported FWD hunk of garbage that spits in the face of all previous aussie Commodores.

As long as its got a decent V6 I don't mind to much. Not too keen on the V6 with (twin) turbos. Turbos make the servicing and maintenance costs of a car pretty much double. Then again I'm basing this off Subarus...

The way I see it there's only really one replacement for me after the Falcon and Commo faze out. The Chrysler 300 family. Hopefully FCA will get their wish and start importing the next generation Dodge Charger.

Maybe i'm too hung up on looks, but I really don't care how many turbos a car has, how fast it is, how economical, or how good it is at anything really, when it's basic proportions are all wrong leaving it looking like a nose heavy blimp of a thing.

Any large car with a transversely mounted engine looks awful. There you go - a grand sweeping statement but I really can't think of any exceptions. Short bonnets, huge front overhangs, front wheels pushed right back to the front doors - a car just cannot look good with these horribly distorted proportions. It's no where near as noticeable with small cars, but large cars can't get away with it.

For this reason alone I would never consider a new-gen Commodore to replace the one I have now, and I won't be the only one. Just imagine if Holden stuck around for a bit longer and were given the Alpha platform to tinker with to produce a new generation local car...

You know when you rev a car with a longitudinal engine and the whole car twists a bit. I absolutely love that feeling, my old FWD never did that but my BA does and it's absolutely addictive. That's one of my main reasons to not like transverse engines hahahaha

Hey there are loads of reasons not to like transverse engines! It's just not... natural.

Absolutely stunning, I hope Holden fast tracks this into the marketplace next year instead of waiting until 2018.

The front and rear treatments are a bit too garish for my tastes.

Maybe they’d tone it down a little for the Aussie market, Australian and US tastes are a little different.

Though it is a bit plain Jane as it is compared to some of the Yank stuff you see.
