Transfering club rego

Hi all
Ive often seen cars for sale with club rego
but the adverts always say
club rego but not transferable
Id like to find out the gist of it
what if the seller and the buyer belong to car clubs either the same club
or different clubs and both buyer and seller are elligble for club rego
can you then transfer the rego with a RWC like normal rego can be done
or is it just not value for money to transfer club rego or just not allowed
here in QLD My Triumph Stag 3 litre V8 costs $195 for twelve months as
against $1000 for normal rego Our rego fees work on the number of cylinders

It is not transferable.

It can be done in Qld. The new buyer must produce a dating certificate and proof of current membership of an incorporated car club at the time of transfer

In NSW, when you sell the car you hand in the plates

As per all of the above, but its not a big deal, if your a member of a club that has access to the club rego scheme, you simply register it again after the club identify it as a suitable vehicle and that it is the car it says it is (some clubs eg the one I'm in also want a paper pink slip to say the vehicle is roadworthy) and then take the docs to the rego office and register it again in your name, no big deal and only marginal more difficult that transferring a regular full rego car

You need to think of club rego not as registration and more as a 12month unregistered vehicle permit. In fact I'm not sure what the current labels say but I seem to remember years ago they were marked as conditional unregistered vehicle permit

The only slight loss is in NSW you have to pay an extra $50 the first year for the new H plate, even if it had a H plate to start with - just more government rip-off that you learn to live with.

exactly and lets face it if you went to transfer a full rego car you'd have transfer fees and stamp duty that would be more than $50 anyhow

I recently transferred a car on club rego with personalised plates. Dating certificate,membership proof and RWC in QLD.Easy as.

I forgot to say I have personal plates which would not be going with the car so I would have to buy S plates to put on the car
so I might as well just sell it as unregistered
not sure of the best way to go I dont know if you can get a refund on club rego probably cost me more for all the paperwork and crap just to get a small refund
looking for a Mk1 Zephyr
I had a Mk1 when I met my Mrs Ive still got her
I wish I still had the car

Here in Vic normal rego plates are issued to cars, club plates are issued to individuals.
