I've been considering something like this in my Focus having already installed a smaller version. I had the very very base model radio in my Focus so it was a nice upgrade but saw these complete vertical screens just like in a Tesla.
I still prefer physical controls for HVAC which I will still have underneath. The small 8" one I bought was $440 delivered but this is ~$700 and wondering if it's worth an upgrade. I would be losing a CD and DVD player over my current unit but in the 2 years I've had it I never used that function. It looks like sticking a 10" android Tablet over the top of you centre console.
it will look ordinary IMO. and I would question if its legal being so big

So I should opt for a smaller landscape one that's only 9"?
I use it mostly for Torque, navigation, music.

Its your call I would have though an 8" screen would be big enough for those things?

How big is the Sync3 equiped cars touchscreens? I assume they are are all the same size right?

Cool, might just get the basic unit then. I think the big one would be a bit overkill anyway.
I also realised that the horizontal resolution would be lower because it's in portrait so a landscape screen would actually be better for navigation. It is still tempting though.
