Default EB GT P07 (Pearl Black)

I bought Pearl Black EB GT P07 last year. The previous owner misplaced all books, records & even the owners details prior to him. I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this car? Any information for my records would be appreciated & privacy respected. Col 0407138405 Thanks in advance

Hi Col,

Surely there is a Tickford or GT club that would know the history?

Cheers,

Previous owner misplaced the books...... I'd be doing a rego check to see if she's the real deal.

I don’t think there’d be too many re bodied EB GT’s getting passed off as originals somehow and if there was I don’t really think a rego check will unravel too much.

Good luck with your search Col, sounds like a good car to own, being a pre production version of the 1st of the return of the modern GT’s.

If you pass on the VIN I can try and see if I can find the selling dealer was, from there you could contact them and see what information they can give you.

You maybe able to fill in its WA history by applying for a report under the guise of a pre-purchase check with the DOT.
Haven't done one for a while myself but the premium one used to tell you previous owners, insurance claims, odometer readings at transfers and previous plates. Worth a check if they still do them.
Good luck with it, sounds like an interesting car.

I can remember that blue XR8 on display at Klosters, a mates girlfriend at the time nearly bought it for her first car. Her father was a wealthy businessman in Newcastle and she ended up buying a black VR or VS SS instead. Can you post any pictures of it now?

I am sure you already have a verification letter from Ford, but it has build dates, order specs & the state/dealership for delivery.

What has led you to believe that this vehicle is EB GT prototype #07? What are the engine and trans codes? Build Date? Having driven many miles (too many) in an EBGT P0 durability car at the You Yangs proving ground back in 91/92 (This particular p0 car later being scrapped) I am interested to know if your car is the real deal. Can you post build date, engine and trans codes?

I never saw that car. I think your confusing it with 007 a blue manual gt. That car was on display at kloster ford for about 2-3 months. My brother worked at Klosters and everytime a special falcon came in he would tell me and get me in the workshop to look at it. 007 was definitely blue manual.

My car is DEFINATELY P07 It is NOT A PROTOTYPE. It is a "P" as in PRE PRODUCTION. There were 10 "P" EB GT's The prototypes were tested (at the You Yangs) & yes as you righty said...were scrapped. Different to "P" cars that were used for promotional & press duties.

There are a number of ways to check if its a 'P' car. All 'P' car had the Dealer Code 3999 (Ford Motor Co.) All 'P' cars were built without Smartlock. P06 does have Smartlock, but it is believed to be dealer fitted by Q-Ford. P06 is owned by the Bowden Family and took place in the Cannonball run driven by Pete Geoghegan. All 'P' cars were re sidoed to xxx241 to xxx250, so I would assume P07 is xxx247?. It is not known it they were re sidoed consecutively, but going on what I have seen, it looks possible.

Correct. I know exactly what a P car is. I have P07!!!!!! Yes it is a 3999 (Ford Special Vehicles) I know what I have, I would just hope to find some history on it. And to those that don't know......P cars are NOT Prototype. They are Pre production. The first of the EB GT's . P01 to P10 There are 6 still to be 'alive'

With respect, it sounds like you already know everything there is except whether the prior owners had it serviced on time or not. Maybe you could list what your after to save being told what you already know. Best of luck.
