don't you hate it when people don't live up to expectations, I had a fully decked glide built by a very reputable shop, it was built to handle around 1000+HP, the thing was painted black but lots of the case wasn't even cleaned properly, ie chunks of dirt, rocks(literally, real rocks), paint over oil/grease(heaps), the case had a 3mm deep dent in the top which actually caused a depression of the case in that area, one bolt was finger loose? and had dirt and crap on the end of it!, the whole powerglide experience for me has started out poorly.
Lets just say the builder is one of the most reputable around and priced to match, you would think that they clean the cases before they rubuild them hey, I called the guy and he said that they can't clean the casses to harshly because they might get damaged-what an idiot-total bull, he then said he would send me some black paint to touch it up-WTF, who spends nearly 4K on a gearbox and expects to get something that looks like it was assembled/painted by retarded blind people, needles to say he is taking the box back, fitting a new case, and I will get this one unpainted that way he can't skimp on the cleaning. I am VERY ****ed at this guy, how can he send something to someone expecting to get away with crap like that, makes me wonder if he actually builds them himself or just lets retarded people do it for him. Total loss of trust for him. If I get it back and am happy with the product I will not identify the person, but if he decides to argue with me at all, I will post on every single forum I can find and send letters/fax to every single shop/supplier/business I have ever bought from or worked for, telling them (with pictorial evidence of course) that this guy has no quality control at all. How do idiots think they can do this sorta stuff to people, its like building a motor and telling the owner that the block couldn't be cleaned properly because it might get damaged, who the **** does he think he is, what a ......... What kind of person begins his defence with BS, I rang him to question the paint that was falling off and he said who cares you will scratch it anyway when you put it in the car, and then when asked about the chunks of dirt and rocks and grease on the case he flat out lied and said it could damage the case if cleaned off, I scratched it off with my fingernail. Why do people have to lie and be dodgy, if he did what he was paid to do I would have a good glide and he would get good feedback from me, now I have no glide and he will get poor feedback, I had a bad day because of him. He is well known all round eastern OZ but he thought he could sell me rubbish, WTF? grrrrr He thinks he can porn crap to people just besause he has a good rep, this is the first time anyone has ever sold me rubbish product when I didn't ask for rubbish product, what a looser, its his business that will suffer. BUT he has offered to rectify the problem, after some "conversation" he agreed to take it back and fix it up, but what does that say about his QC if he sends stuff like this out his door? I wouldn't sell dirty "reco" stuff to anyone, this makes me soo angry : : : when I worked for an engine shop things like this cause punch ups, people trying to flat out rip you off with dodgy crap, whether intentional or not, to send crap product is an insult no matter how it happened. Just goes to show that a reputation for doing good work doesn't mean that good work is what you get! He is sooo lucky I live in ACT instead of VIC or I would have returned the box in person. ing_sm : |

There is nothing worst than being rolled. especially when you have faith in a reputable business.
When this happens I spread the negative word. Although you shouldn't name the company on this forum, can you state the suburb they are located?

Nah I dont think I should bag them yet, see how this is dealt with by them first, I really want my money back, I just can't trust someone who doesn't wash the parts properly and tries to lie about it, its totally pathetic, insulting and down right wrong.
So very dissapointing. |

If the case was that dirty on the outside, I'd be worried about how clean they were with the internal assembly? I had a "back yarder" rebuild a big-block Mopar 727 TorqueFlite for me years ago and he did a great job .. and cleaned the case nicely too. It's not that hard ... I'd think even Chevy hardware could handle the "rigors" of cleaning

very scary ,if thats his attitude after your minor complaint,i would hate to think what the internals are like, you can bet it was wacked together by an apprentice, when paying these sort of dollars you want it and rightfully so,done with the parts and case cleaned to doctors surgery standards.

exactly, he said he assembled the internals but doesn't assemble the actual box. I don't know much about how they go together but personally I think its BS. He seems to be doing the right thing and fixing it plus providing compensation, but I had to argue for it, he said that fixing the box was compensation, I had to point out that fixing the box is not compensation but simply making right for not doing the job properly in the first place.
His initial delivery of the box was about 1.5 weeks late, he didn't clean the case/extension housing properly, he tried to tell me that cleaning the case could have damaged it?, he didn't want to compensate me until I pushed him into it. This guy is asking for trouble, don't people realise that one ****ed off customer tells way more people compared to a happy customer, if I am not happy with it when it is returned I will seek advice from consumer affairs and compensation thru small claims court. |
