Just a bit quicker than the second fastest one. lol. I would say somewhere in the low 14s.

I don't know. Are you counting bolting on a turbo as "unopened"? I guess literally, that would be right, but not in the "spirit" of unopened. I always thought unopened referred to max N/A mods without taking the head(s) off, not forced induction.

Just to burst your bubble, we have collectively defined "unopened" as specifically excluding huffers, puffers, and blow your door offers. lol.

Claim what you want. I have the fastest 3 baby-seated, pursuit lipped, auto I6 AU2 black wagon in the whole world!

Un-opened means no internal changes (springs are ok if you own a LS1 apparently) no forced induction or chemical supercharging (NOS)

Yup, Loxx has it by a country mile as far as I know.

Hamo's ran into the 14's with a diff change so I doubt that is "unopened"

Can I ask how a diff change has anything to do with an unopened engine?

All comes down to interpretation of what is "unopened". To me it means that anything changed in the driveline that touches oil. This includes cams, gearbox or diff.
If you just want to say engine then Hamo's 14.8 stands. In that case once I get the stall convertor in mine it would also be "unopened" and I'll see if I cant give that time a shake for an auto.

Either way, Loxx6 has it with a 14.6 unopened (and with no diff or gearbox changes either)

nope, it has an oil line doesnt it? To me that means it touchs oil and therefore is "opened".
Irrelevant anyhow, all forced induction is excluded in the spirit of the question I would think.

Nope that can be done without taking the engine apart or even opening it! :Reverend:

Its all BS anyways just like John said. I hate the classing system, it causes so much crap.

Steve's car is the fastest AU 6 on this site and that is that.

....Next to mine! :eclipsee_ :

If Steve's car cant qualify it for the "unopened 6" class then does it qualify in the "opened 6" class?

Then he would be close to the quickest opened AU on this site yes?

Just clarifying Unopened. In most catagories unopened ends at the Flexplate/Flywheel, you can run a lenco and 9" 5.13:1 diff behind your stock motor and it will still be unopened.

I never knew that driveline affected unopened. Seems like there's pleny of versions of "unopened" eg ask the ls1 guys.

I think its more of a budget thing, we all know once you open an engine its hard to stop at just a set of springs. For me its interesting to see the differences in gains from the same base engine while doing relatively little in terms of 'true' performance upgrades.

Also in my case I just want to get the most out of it before I put the most into it, so far its got me 15.2 with no exhaust change and just a chip'n'tune.
