A half set of Golf Clubs can be bought for about $110 these days, if you get him interested early he will thank you for it later down the track, golfs a great game!

Difficult one....
If he is like most 14 year olds he will already have a 3G phone, iPod, Xbox, PS3, Laptop, plasma TV, DVD recorder and no idea of the value of money..... Get him something he might enjoy and learn from. A trial introductry flying lesson at you local flying school. A deep sea fishing trip. A horse riding weekend safari. Something that will be remembered for more than a week...... |

Buy him an old XC-XD falcon and tell him its a "project car" that will be his when he turns 18 to drive. Either that or a project drag car.
That should keep him amused for years and neaver leave you short of what to get him next.

14? Should be time for his first trip to a Gentlemen’s Bar.
Failing that. Look at something thats a bit out of the ordinary. Throw him out of a plane. Skydiving would be something akin to the list Flappist has started.

if you have a paddock... or a big big back yard... buy him a monkeybike ! - depending how tall he is... but they're still quite fun even for a 6'2 person like myself lol.
I had one... untill all the ENGINE MOUNTS snapped off :( |

there are decent bikes around for about $400 these days - back in my day (6-7yrs ago) you had to spend about 1k to get about the same quality. (mine ended up being worth over 2.5k in parts) |
