Default 600rwkw Commodore

Just had to tell someone that today I went for a spin in a 615rwkw supercharged VB Commodore.......and I just about crapped myself! It was running a LS1 on 11psi with a 6 speed Monaro gearbox. It's tubbed at the rear and runs WIDE tyres but can still spin them at 170kph in the dry apparantly!! The owner said it was down on tune and should be running 15psi and 900hp.

Anyway, fastest car I've ever been in by a mile. It's in an upcoming issue of Street Commodores. Still trying to get over it....... :1syellow1

RWKW seem a bit high to me, but that's not saying it's not correct, I've been in a VZ with a 3.3 supercharger at 15 psi, it also has head work cams etc and was making approx 450 rwkw, but either way it still impressive.

All that in a VB..... Personally, I hate the look of VB/VC's... be better in a later model.... still... insane... sounds like you took a trip to "downtown brown" - lol.

Those old cars "feel" fast... 600rwkw in a new car would feel a lot slower.. I bet you crapped yourself lol

that setup in a new car would be slower because of the weight. also that setup would probably be best in my HQ, so i think the guy who ownes it should give me the running gear and fit it for free too

614rwkw @11psi? I'm guessing it's not a 5.7 LS1! Or was it 614rwhp?

Anyway, I bet it was fun.

Yeah I would like to know if that was meant to be KW or HP .
My mate has a 6/71 blown 405 ci windsor in an XY that put out 870rwhp @10 psi(thats the pic in my avatar). So he could be talking kw's, and yes I bet it was fun.

Even with 615rwhp, that would go like a tiger, with a firecracker, up it's a***.

Being a VB, it would only weigh about 1200Kgs. It would a insane power/weight ratio.

My VC SLE with the 3.3 six weighs 1350kg (less than 50 kg's less than my VS). More with a tubbed rear, ls1 etc.

Realistically more like 1500kg's.

cool,600 kw and 900 hp aren't that far apart.
Once he starts pushing the 900 he will be chasing a new cast iron block.

yeah definately rear wheel kilowatts guys. He had had it on the dyno at Dynomotive the day before. He said the motor was pushing out over 800hp at the moment but it was still less than the target 900hp because the boost was down. Anyway, it'll be in the November or December Street Commodores so you can read all about it there.

And yeah, I was doing the stereo/alarm in it

I saw the stereo it was sick.

Must add though, fastest car I've been in would be TUFED-6's ED Turbo. That thing freaking flies. I think it's 460kW so 140kW on top of that in a lighter car would make for some face altering acceleration!!!

600+kw would fly! What type of supercharger is he running?

The fastest car I have been in is a high 400kw VL and that was fast enough for me lol so 600kw would be a blur. I hope to get a ride in a 1000hp VX Commodore soon.

I bet it was spinning the wheels at mad speeds with that power :sm_drool:
I went to a dyno day recently where sleepy old Cairns had a near new s/c XR8 ute reel off 790 rwhp. Its hard to beleive how stock they sound and run at idle and driving around normally.

Just type "800 kilowatts in horsepower" without the quotes into google search.
