Default Removing ECU

Does anyone know how to remove the ECU from an AU?

I need the numbers that are apparently ontop of the ECU next to the plugs, so that I can give them to spiro for my flash tuner.

The problem is the stupid bracket that holds the ECU in place.
Its pop riveted or something to the chasis of the car & I can't remove it to get the ECU out.

I nearly destroyed the ECU & Bracket on the weekend trying to get it out, I got that mad at it, I had the angle grinder plugged in rdy to go, wussed out at the last second.

Try the angle grinder on the pop rivet. You need to remove that rivet to get the bracket off.

The ECU code is a sticker stuck to the bottom, so if you can see the sticker without removing the bracket, rip it off, get the code, and stick it back on with some packing tape or something.

Yep - there's 2 stickers unfortunately. A big one and a small one. That appears to be the small one. The big one is probably stuck on the outside of the ECU facing away from you, or under the bracket. You will have to get that pop rivet out.

yeah, thats what I did in the end. Cost me $50 bucks, they will get the strategy code & any others stored in the ECU for me while i'm there. Booked in for 10am.

My car had better come back with no probs though. Every time I take a car to ford it comes back with another problem that will just mysteriously appear lol.
