Pics, brands n prices would be great!! cheers! P.S if anyone has after market headlight assemblies they would also be great to see! something i plan to do not long after the tail lights! mmmm sexy Au's my fav! |

IMO the factory ghia tails are the best (clear indicators) but if you want something different and aftermarket look then black altezza's are nice if your paint job is a dark colour, if you got a silver car or something bright then chrome altezza's would look nice

Yep, the altezza's are crap. They make the whole rear look cheap in my opinion. The 'ghia' clear indicator ones were also standard on series 1 fairmonts.

The black Altezza don't look too bad ... BUT ... only on a couple of colours only.
Definitely get the SIII taillights ... much sleeker indeed.

Yeah i know that's why i posted a pick of my XR aswell showing what they look like. I though people would have had a better idea of which one they were if i described them as ghia tail light and yeah the chrome altezza's do look crap i agree but since he wants something aftermarket looking.. theres no other option to pick apart from that and the black altezzas (which look nice on some colours only like Mechan1k said)

au1 fairmont/au2/3 lights look good. Amber ones look ****.. so dated and altezzas are uber tacky imo. I reckon the series 2 ones look very clean.

Wouldn't change the tailights on my S1 Fairmont for quids...
But one recommendation to enhance it further - install Phillips Silver Vision indicator bulbs. These bulbs are silver in appearance and will give a clear look to the indicator portion of the lense. With standard orange bulbs they will still give an orange tinge.

Thanks guys, I’ve got a S3 forte. I saw a falcon with those after markets tail lights and to tell the truth they didn’t seem to stand out all that much from my standard S3 tail lights, but they did look better than the S1 tail lights. The head lights posted here on the other hand do look rather interesting. I live in a small country town not many ppl here put many after market things on their falcons. it seems the evil VN and up commodores have got the moders interest up here.

The Led taillights are available from Autobarn and Truckbits Australia, All it is , is the Standard insert of a globe H4 - H7 with about 10 LED in the Color needed wired up , there More Resistent to Shock , Outlast Conventional Globes and will never go dull , Downside is the AU tailights were designed to have a Single Globe so it reflects of the Back of the Light , creating a Bigger area of light , the LED would just Concentrate all the Power into One area round the same size as a 50c Coin ,
Stick with the Originals , thats what the lights are designed for Cheers Daniel PS. Altezzas are only OK in some Instances , Krissys Car (FRDGRL) is a good example of Altezzas Benefiting the Cars Stance , not like a Black VN with them which just looks **** !
